WAGHORN IS A BLUE Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Do you think we will sign any players before the fa cup game who can play in that game ?? Would love to see Sharp bag a screamer at forest !
HangerLCFC Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Could see Sharp.. but no-one else, if anyone
NextPlease Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Could be anyone, how would we know if deals were lined up Could be players NP (or SW) had identified to add to Hull that they still want having identified gaps in our squad
dog_4 Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 fulham after sharp now on skysports! weren't come to us
cc_star Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 fulham after sharp now on skysports! weren't come to us Zamora is supposedly out of favour with Jol, if so it makes sense they'd try & replace him and there's hardly many forwards around. It's going to be like the summer with Fulham, Wolves, Bolton, Rangers & others linked with players at the upper end of our targets list
accessory Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 fulham after sharp now on skysports! weren't come to us He might do, if he wants to stay close to his family in South Yorkshire.
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 If he had any sense regarding his footballing career (and not only preoccupied with money), Sharp would be wise to come to City. The jump from Donny to the Prem is a very big one and he could find himself warming the bench at Craven Cottage very frequently. City would be the right move for him IMO. He'd be earning more, at a bigger club, would play more football and build himself up gradually for a future 'big move'...or stay with us longer-term. However, the 'get-rich-quick' mentality pervades the whole world and is hugely apparent in football..if Fulham want him, he'd probably go there. We'd be missing out on a player who IMO would be tailor-made for our club.
maccfox Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 Sharp apparantly doesnt want to leave his Sheffield home so that could rule Fulham out, could easily commute to Leicester. Hull and Burnley also interested but could they match our wages??
Chairman of the Bored Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 I'd like us to take a punt on Brett Pitman at Brizzle. I also like the look of the boy Coutts at PNE.
maccfox Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 Has Maynard signed a contract yet? No he hasnt so been placed on the transfer list by Brizzle think we need a seperate NM thread ive missed em ;-)
ealingfox Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 I admit I didn't know that much about Sharp, I thought he was pushing 30. Having just read about and watched him, I think he'd be a superb addition. I would be happy to see Beckford go if Sharp was to come in. I can see Sharp playing the number 10 role here, playing just behind and with Nugent up top.
seenitall Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 Why would any striker want to come here? We just signed 2 half a season ago and one of them is slaughtered after every game (even the couple when he scored!!) - there are clubs far more supportive of their players who he would be wise to move to - if he comes to us and doesn't score in his third minute on the pitch he will be a shit waste of money to most...............
Guest Col city fan Posted 30 December 2011 Posted 30 December 2011 Bloody shame that Lucas Leiva got injured for Liverpool... Just watching Liverpool v the Geordies tonight and Jay Spearing is a super little player. Exactly the type of player City need.. Young, energetic and tough in the tackle. Decent passer of the ball too. Would have been superb for us. Anyone similar available?

accessory Posted 30 December 2011 Posted 30 December 2011 Take out the young bit and maybe Alan Smith? This was said on another thread yesterday. Very few lower-league sides can afford to pay the wages he's on at Newcastle. If his hometown club don't want him, why should we take a chance?
