m00nie Posted 12 January 2012 Posted 12 January 2012 Yep, fell for the con that attracting players and playing good attacking football, whilst being open and honest with the press and fans and keeping them informed, making everyone feel part of the journey including the youth team etc etc... Of course it's much better now we have Nigel .... OK a bit dull in terms of what we hear from the club, the football we play, there's little feel good factor and the first team is the only team, oh and Howard is out of retirement, as is the long diagonal sunday league ball.... but hey look at the RESULTS!!!!! We could even be back where Sven left us by the end of the year. we may even sign a player in this transfer window!!!! you go to be kidding me.. your still bitter over sven leaving?? just when you thought this thread couldnt get any crazier..
5waller5 Posted 12 January 2012 Posted 12 January 2012 you go to be kidding me.. your still bitter over sven leaving?? just when you thought this thread couldnt get any crazier.. Not bitter ... just sad that we have nothing better to talk about than the sort of shite that i was expecting when NP was recruited. Boring football, no signings nearly half way in to the transfer window .... I've just read over a page of bickering about how to divide a month into segments ..... My point is that we wouldn't have had that conversation with someone that has charisma, ambition and the pull factor for bringing in new players.
Fox1651 Posted 13 January 2012 Posted 13 January 2012 Bloody Hell this thread has gone on a bit As far as I'm concerned I see NO reason why suitable players should not want to sign for Leicester City Football Club We have money to pay good contracts, a lovely stadium, a good managerial team, a great fan base and the nucleus of a decent squad. Just give it time and we will see what Pearson and the boys can bring in. Don't be surprised if its not many signings though. The Jan transfer window is notorious for clubs not wanting to sell. If he gets the time, which I think he will, Pearson will sort this squad out mainly in the summer. This

David Hankey Posted 13 January 2012 Posted 13 January 2012 It matters not a jot where we are in January, start, middle or end we still haven't signed anyone. Would Sharp have signed straight away if Sven had still been here, my guess is he would have. I'm afraid NP hasn't the clout in the transfer market has his predecessor.

Attacking football :-D :-D :-D We played some of the most boring shit I've ever seen us play Results? Do you have amnesia, seriously wtf planet are you on, Sven won 35pts out his last 81, he is the very definition of the words "mid" & "table" Didn't you get the memo, the con failed, you're no longer supposed to be under the spell Signing a load of individuals isn't building a team, look at the collection of individuals Barca have & ManUtd have had over the years & look how they'd die for each other, they will fight & chase every ball, always. The away win at Palace showed a bit of spirit coming back to the squad, but in the 18m NP was away a lot was coached out of them, so it's going to take time & signings... Remember "If I can't change players mentality, I'll change the players" Only on FT could someone spunk upto £20m up the wall, achieve nothing, set us back a year or two, never once get out of midtable & still be revered :-D

Some people have such short memories... This season so far has been nothing short of disgraceful... Let's be honest about it However, the whole Sven thing has become boring. He failed.. And he's gone Pearson IMO has not done as well yet as I predicted. But he's here and we must now put the whole Sven thing behind us.

Guest Col city fan Posted 13 January 2012 Posted 13 January 2012 I quite agree. As Babylon said above... Sven didn't get the two strikers that could have made a major difference in Maynard and CMS.. Or the Yak for that matter Instead we got Beckford...

Let's be honest about it However, the whole Sven thing has become boring. He failed.. And he's gone Pearson IMO has not done as well yet as I predicted. But he's here and we must now put the whole Sven thing behind us. Not me ... I can remember standing in the Kop watching David Pleat's sides with around 7000 others in the whole ground .... and believe me that was poor football ...and you know what .... I was more excited then than now. At least we had the prospect of something changing and us improving ... NP hasn't got the clout to bring in players and hasn't got the charisma to motivate. I was a big fan of him first time around but things moved when we got the Thais in and Sven, but we're undergoing a process of going backwards and re-adjusting our expectations down again. the simple fact is that under SGE i was optimistic, under NP i'm bored. I hate the dross long ball style of football that he's brought back. Personally I liked Sven's football .... the ball spent most of the time on the turf. But hey if you prefer hoofball then you must be in nirvana right now. Back to the original post ... I'd therefor have preferred to have MH, because i didn't know what to expect - there was at least a chance of not being bored, there isn't with NP.
Schlupp Posted 13 January 2012 Posted 13 January 2012 Sven played better football than Pearson,I feel sorry for Sven although he ****ed up badly he needed to make a sqaud,He made a team full of egos.

There are other players available for us to sign. We have signed noone. t's mid Jan (be as pedantic as you like about a day or two). Yeah BD could sign, and yes he may have to think about it because of personal reasons .... does that stop us signing anyone else??? Do you honestly believe that we'd not have signed someone if Sven was in charge??? Or more to the original posts point with Mark Hughes in charge. NP has no pulling power.

NP has no pulling power. if billy sharp signs (which going by todays rumours it will happen as all agreed now ) then he has signed probally his number 1 target.. hows that not pulling power?? did sven sign maynard when he was his apparent number 1 target?? we have a winger on trial. . and who know what else is happening.. maybe he has to get rid before he can sign loads??

Says everything to me ..... By midway through the transfer window we maybe close to signing Doncaster Rovers striker and we have a winger on trial that i don't even know the name of. Come on ..... there wasn't a training session that went by without Sven having someone on trial, there was no shortage of signings either. I'm not on a Sven love-in, just making the comparison to how tedious it is being a fan of a NP led team. It's dour and boring, just like the man himself. I'm craving something, ANYTHING, to make me excited about LCFC right now.
foxes2011 Posted 13 January 2012 Posted 13 January 2012 I'm happy with the choice of pearson as manager. we should move on from debating this topic cuz it is done now and pearson will be the boss for the considerable future weather we like it or not but I would have gone for jones. on the basis of he would be fresh championship exp and he is a free agent would have been cheaper as well but like I said its done now I'm v happy with pearson. I don't like hughes but he wouldn't have come anyway he wasn't even happy at fulham who were in pl but I just think we needed chpship exp nd we have got tht now.

And where did it get sven ?? a squad too big with average players. did that excite you ?? billy sharp is scoring goals for fun, so what if he coming from doncaster, where did MON get lennon from? elliot? even izzet was from the reserves.. svens gone, get over it as your getting very boring banging on about him and how it would have been better, if that was the case he would still be here..

You're so right. We are in a better position now. we are signing exciting players. We are playing exciting football. I'm entertained. Wow I'm so excited now. Thanks for showing me the light. What on earth was I thinking of when criticising NP and daring to say I'm BORED.

I don't buy the big squad myth - I've not seen a single home program where our squad is bigger than the opposition's. Much more than now, yes.

Jace Posted 14 January 2012 Author Posted 14 January 2012 Oh dear can just see not only Sharp but any other potentials put off by us right now, Why would any Premiership/Top Championship player want to come to us right now?
Ultra Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Sharp wasn't coming anyway. Why would he want to end up like his old pal Beckford? He might as well stay as a big fish in a small pond..
