MikeyT Posted 25 January 2012 Author Posted 25 January 2012 Well done Mikey T. You are obviously a great guy. Best wishes to you and your friend. Only just seen this post, apologies. Thanks very much for the support. My friend's cancer has spread since i last posted in this thread and is now on both sides of her brain, as well as her lungs and small amount in her liver as well. They went to the hospital yesterday and spoke with someone there and asked if she would be here in June to see the birth of her grandchild and basically the doctor said he wouldn't like to say. Still going through Chemo etc. obviously, but as you have probably gathered, it seems it's only a matter of time now. They are having their wedding vows renewed in about 3 weeks for which I'll be at and getting some photos of. Anyhow, thanks again to every one that has sponsored me, and if you haven't already, you still can at the links posted on this thread. Much appreciated every one. Love MikeyT Done. Legend, thank you mate!
MikeyT Posted 29 January 2012 Author Posted 29 January 2012 Done. Brilliant. Thanks very much mate. Really appreciate it.
Guest Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Sorry it's not a huge donation for a worthy cause, but all the best (PS. I didn't realise it was you on Twitter, doh!)
MikeyT Posted 1 February 2012 Author Posted 1 February 2012 Sorry it's not a huge donation for a worthy cause, but all the best (PS. I didn't realise it was you on Twitter, doh!) Ahh cheers for that. I was trying to figure out who the Lisa as that had donated. haha.Thank you very much. Really appreciate it. As I've said, the donation amount doesn't matter, it's the fact that you have donated that's great. And yes, little old me on Twitter.
MikeyT Posted 15 February 2012 Author Posted 15 February 2012 donated Ahh cheers mate. Much appreciated. Thank you very much.

Rincewind Posted 27 February 2012 Posted 27 February 2012 I have put four short stories into an Ebook and put them on Ebay 75% of the sale going to Cancer Research UK. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item33727603c3 I have listed two so far. I have put them as auction to save on insertion fees starting at £1. The minimum donation is £1 and they take something out for admin fees. May change it to Buy Now. My 25% should cover the extra. Wanted to sell for less because it is a Ebook and only have to send an attachment by Email. I will be doing other Ebooks with more content. There are now 5 listed starting at 60p and buy it now £1 which has to be 40% more.
The People's Hero Posted 27 February 2012 Posted 27 February 2012 I'm majorly strapped for cash right now but having read these posts I really want to do what I can to help. I run a charitable trust with a friend and I'll be putting something out about this if you don't mind, to try to get you some more donations, get it out again to a wider audience. I'll use my twitter account too. Its really good what you're doing (its difficult to type things like that without them sounding patronising and I can assure you its not meant that way) and anyone who has not dealt with McMillan in the past, firstly, you're lucky and I really hope it stays that way and secondly they are an absolutely amazing cause. I have met and dealt with a number of people who work for and with McMillan and they are some of the most caring and selfless people I've ever met. I'll chuck in a few quid and I just wish it could be more. As a query- have you tried approaching local press? You'd be surprised how keen they are to fill pages and also how much interest and donations you can get from doing so. We had loads of people send in money when we were doing work in support of McMillan and these were people we'd never met who had just read it in the local paper!
Wymsey Posted 2 March 2012 Posted 2 March 2012 Donation sent. Not sure if you did ( ), but were/are you still looking for a job in photography? I'll be with one of my Family business clients tomorrow, who has a photography business, and invited me once to join the business as I was quite keen on it the last time I saw him (2/3 years back). Only a ten minute drive from your town. I'll ask in general if there's anything of like this job, then perhaps link in with you if A) you're interested, or, B) He's willing to 'bring people on'. Cheers.

Mickey, if you take the job you will owe your new Godfather a "service" and given the long term absence and lack of details from the date... who knows what that could be?!

jgtuk Posted 4 March 2012 Posted 4 March 2012 Only just read this story. Well done Mikey - A real worthy cause. I've got cancer and have been fighting it since 2008 so I know the costs to the charitable organisations that have helped me. Without people like you, people like me might not be here.... Donation sent. Thanks again for taking the time to help.
Rincewind Posted 4 March 2012 Posted 4 March 2012 For anyone that donates I will be happy to send them a PDF file of my Ebook The Three Cask O Beers. I have put it on Ebay, 75% to Cancer Research UK anyway
