Barnsley Post Match

If we lose on Tuesday I can see Pearson going.

This season, should things continue at this rate, has been as bad as 07/08.

outside looking in, i keep an eye out of you.cov/brum with family near by.

i never expected anything today due to history,

i saw you at oakwell under sven and couldn't believe you got a point, you were truly awful that day.

today was different, 1st 60 mins you had the lions share of the play without really really threatening, we broke well and looked dangerous going forward, and should have scored 2 late on, but as an old tarn fan, you were always going to snatch something (like brum did) but no!

I've (begrudgingly) always liked the leicester fight, but the last 30 mins especially it was lacking, we kept giving the ball away and you just hoofed it up for us to hoof it back or maybe break away,

don't want to make that much of a deal with the money side, you are miles ahead in those terms, but credit due to our (still overpaid) bread'n'butter players.

good luck for the rest of the season, you will finish above us but don't begrudge us our best tit4tat haul since time began!

The anger you're seeing isn't supposed to be disrespectful to Barnsley as a club or your well deserved win yesterday. It's just a culmination of the fans being messed around for years on end finally boiling over.

Most damning comment for me came on the radio afterwards. A guy called up who said he'd taken his 7 year old to the last three games. Apparently the kid said "I don't want to go any more, it's boring".

We're so bad, we're actively discouraging the next generation of fans from coming.

Totally agree with the kid tbf.

You're right, so damning, spot on.

Made me think back to when I was 7 years old.

We were playing well above ourselves.

Couldn't be more opposed to now.

Yeh when I was 7 I went to watch us at fvcking Wembley. And we won.

So depressing now.

"my saturday"

worked 12 hrs friday night, went bed, got up late rushed to the ground to be told the main ticket office was shut. i then got told to go to the sub office at the back of the ground, i went round and the first one was shut as i walked to the second, the tannoy annouced who the barnsley goal scorer was !! great ! i then arrived at the open ticket office to be greeted by the whopping £27 ADULT price.

at this point my 20+ years of supporting city was for the first time questioned by my brain "do i really want to part with £27 for a ticket to watch a game we already losing?" but i was there and the bloke looked at me as if to say you want a ticket or not ? so i handed over my hard earned cash, that in some pubs would be exchanged for a good ten pints, and got a £2 discount WOW, as i hurried to the turnstile i hear the roar of dyers equaliser! cheered up by this somewhat i got into the ground and took my seat and hoped for us to go onto to win. for about ten minutes this looked promising! plenty of the ball, pressure, corners and half chances. at this point my mate told me how they scored and as i looked on they more or less replayed the goal for me to make it 2-1 ! after this we looked completely out of sorts to say the least i cant remeber watching so much poor passing, set pieces, and general shocking individual performances. the first 5 mins of the second half barnsley waltzed through our defence twice and should of put it beyond us! the times we gave the ball away was schoolboy level, the desire to win it back was even worse. the length of time it took to make a sub was beyond belief. i left with 5 mins to go, the good old days of a late seige, having the visiting fans removing their fingernails one by one never looked on the cards, and in the pub after the whistle everyone i spoke to found it hard to remember when we last played that bad. i believe there is a big dressing room problem with some of the players and manager, i may be wrong, but if there is id rather him get rid and play the youth team players in their place and have some hunger and desire to play for the club and at least lose with pride. the two rookies who played in the win at palace deserved a place on merit yesterday, perhaps there is a few midfielders who would also relish the chance to show what they can do! it cant be any worse than the shite served up by the so-called first team. ill be there tuesday but more in a "hope we win " attitude than "the city players will be fired up for this baby" like the era of walshy and co in a good old local derby under the floodlights!
