Guest ttfn Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 This interview from Pearson is as disappointing as the game.
crisp packet Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 As bad as it gets!!!!!!! Am looking over my shoulder we are shit!
Guest shearfox Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 We arn't getting promoted this season, use Jan to buy players who want to play for City and get rid of those who don't. Sven's fault not Pearson's, and I'm sure he will get the players in to make us proud once more.
Ronnie ram Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Watch the gap ! You will soon be joining forest In a relegation battle !
MC Prussian Posted 14 January 2012 Author Posted 14 January 2012 What is Pearson referring to when he's saying "Delusions of Grandeur"? The fans or the players? Or both? A bit of a bold statement, given the fact that HIS team just lost 2-1 at home to Barnsley.
HoustonFox Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Buy a central midfielder!!!! Hate to think what Barnsley would have done with Butterfield in the team as well.
Master Fox Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 What is Pearson referring to when he's saying "Illusions of Grandeur"? The fans or the players? Or both? A bit of a bold statement, given the fact that HIS team just lost 2-1 at home to Barnsley. I thought that, What a dick if he's referring to the fans.
somebum Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Better under Sven. Fact. That was the worst of the season so far. Worse even than Millwall. Gallagher was absolutely beyond shit. How he could be that bad against Forest and retain his place was beyond me. But to be that bad again? Absolute bullsh!t mate. Fact
drc Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 why did he sign for Leicester if he thought we had a poor squad. When we were buuing these players all other fans said we were buring the team and absolutely class players. The thing is that gelling took much longer time than we whought. And when we changed the manager it's like start all over again. We have a good squad (baut it was better with Fernandes and Johnsson) than it is now. I think Sven would have acted different if he knew we would only have 5 substitutes - buying class players that have to be out of the bench didn't help.
MC Prussian Posted 14 January 2012 Author Posted 14 January 2012 Absolute bullsh!t mate. Fact Most of what you come up with is absolute b*llshit. Yes. Fact.
Happy Fox Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Absolute shambles the only player to come out that game with any credit was Kasper then Pelts the rest were shit.
MC Prussian Posted 14 January 2012 Author Posted 14 January 2012 Absolute shambles the only player to come out that game with any credit was Kasper then Pelts the rest were shit. Peltier? More Konchesky, like. The guy puts in a 110 or more per cent each match and a 2-1 loss to Barnsley at home is what he can reap at the end of the day.
seenitall Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 It was all about poor formation today. Peltier was playing way too forward and it cost us two soft goals. One striker is wrong and you could see Nugent shouting at Gallagher, so inept was his performance today. Gally took every set piece while he was on, his first two corners and a couple of lthe later ones never made it past their first man and both of his free kicks in dangerous positions did likewise. There doesn't appear to be any team spirit and certainly no leader on the pitch (although Konchesky seems to have more idea than anyone). Beckford came on too late to make any impact so blaming him is a nonsense. Thought Wellens was OK and gave his all, King has all but disappeared, Danns looked lightweight, Dyer played pretty well. I think Nige has his work cut out and does seem to favour his old players, most of which look a bit past it. The blame for this lies with Top and the board who made an appalling decision sacking Sven and for many an appalling decision hiring him. I thought the crowd did well to stay positive for so long, although we did hit the bar and Dyer came close. i left after 82 minutes because it was too depressing and I didn't want to get stuck in traffic and have to listen to the moan in(my daughter insists) in the car for too long. Probably won't go for a few games as no one seems that bothered.
Guest shearfox Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Fact is, our players think they just have to turn up to win, they all have illusions of grandeur. The only ones I saw working today were Dyer, Kasper, Konchesky and Nugent the rest can f off...
crisp packet Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Absolute shambles the only player to come out that game with any credit was Kasper then Pelts the rest were shit. Did u go to today? Peltier? He was at fault today for both goals....
Webbo Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Wellens was one of our better players today, Dyer, Konch,Schmichael and Mills put in a good shift too. Gallagher was awful.
Matt Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Another uncovincing performance. Well convincing if you weren't already convinced the team isn't good enough. Can't blame Pearson yet I don't think, most of this team isn't his, granted some are and those players that he signed are playing poor, even if he made subs earlier I don't think it'd make alot of difference, they are all as poor as each other, all I would blame Pearson for is not moving quicker and getting things done as far as transfers are concerned.

Probably won't go for a few games as no one seems that bothered. Completely agree with the Peltier comments.. it's not impossible for a player to have a bad game and today was his. The first goal he was up front and not tracking back (which if I'm right all defenders should be doing), and the second he didn't close the man down quick enough and allowed him to put a pass in. Don't get me wrong there were far worse mistakes from other players. King - I have got to say probably touched the ball 5 times in the 2nd half and all had a negative effect. Gallagher - Didn't really threaten, people complain about Beckford not winning headers but this guy does not seem to attack the ball and thus might as well have not bothered.. as well as his woeful distribution today. In truth this means our Midfield couldn't have performed to it's potential and to be honest it seemed like it was 9 players against 11, the midfield needs a shake up... not our defence and not our attack. Our defence is left FAR too exposed because there is not enough support for them to get the ball out which often results in Mills/Tunch lumping it up field. And our attack lacks the catalyst required to create a goal.
Kitchandro Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 I probably won't go to the Middlesbrough match. I might even not go to the Forest game. That was yet another match I got absolutely no enjoyment out of. Even when we got the equaliser I knew we wouldn't kick on. Not only was the performance beyond shit and worse, gutless, I was surrounded by chavs that either weren't singing at all or were booing individual players. Add to that they were chanting Beckford's name for ages when he wasn't playing, and I knew he would come on and play completely shit and then they'd be moaning at him as well. K was great at one point and obviously the team is not helping at all but it is such a depressing place to be right now. It's one thing to boo the whole team at half time and full time, It's acceptable to vent your frustrations on the set-up as a whole when it's so bad, but it's fvcking pathetic to boo individual players during the match when they're making errors. Oh, and then jeering players when they are subbed because they are having an admittedly awful game. What is the point in that, really? So ashamed right now and all you little teenage turds in K should be as well. And people all around the ground in fact. I don't really care to analyse the 'performance' at length, all that I would say is that this teams lack of passion, belief and entertainment factor is sucking the life out of me. At the moment I've got no passion for it either. There is a worrying lack of spirit in this team, the reasons for that may be numerous but it needs sorting out. It's been the same since game one of this season, and I haven't got the patience for it any more. Right now I hope I never see those players play for us again, Schmeichel and possibly Nugent aside. I'm really starting to dislike the lot of them. Pearson is having a nightmare at the moment, yes these players aren't good enough and he knows that but I still don't expect him to sign the new midfield which is necessary. And what was he doing today? They were sent out there without drive and hunger and he only made one sub and that was after 70 minutes! The humiliation continues.
steveherbe Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 And how come Sven signed - or had - 8 central midfielders, and we cant find 2? Wellens and King - for me - were absolutely dreadful. Forget signing a striker and a wide man, we need good central midfielders. Like Fernandes... and Abe,,, Oh, hang on, we've ditched them. Even Johnson cant be that bad can he? Bring back Oakley, he was never THAT bad. And if we're gonna play hoofball, we'll need Howard. THATS how bad it is, we need Howard! Hope Gally gets lost on the M1 going home and never returns. I'm 60, and I could play better than him, dodgy knees and all Hell, Sol the wall bamba is better in midfield, and he's a centre back! Useless bunch of tossers, they should be ashamed - Kasper, Konch and Dyer excepted.
wattolcfc Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Got to agree with Kitch. There is so much wrong that a thread probably isn't enough to cover it all. Passion, creativity, MOVEMENT, awareness and drive are just a small number of problems with the current team. The most simple one of those to rectify would be movement. We never give an option from a throw in EVER. We also never seem to offer simple options going forward (which is why we end up going out wide or back). Pearson, sort it out.
SMX11 Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Pearson comments today were spot on. We are deluded if we think this squad is good enough to challenge. One out and out winger and a load of average central midfielders, you can't do a lot with that i'm afraid. With Sharp not coming now it seems as if this could be a very frustrating year as we aren't going to attract anyone while we are lingering in mid table. For peole saying we played better under Sven, then you must a clearly not go to the Watford (I know we won by the performance was poor), Milwall, Reading, Bristol City games at home because we were worse in those games.
Corky Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 What a waste of ****ing time. 90 minutes of insipid, turgid, predictable football ending in a score that flattered us. What positives can we take out of today? Can someone tell me? It was utterly unprofessional. We played straight into Barnsley's hands. High balls over the top, ideal for defenders to head away, ideal to set them on a counter-attack with the pace they had. The set-pieces- one, in the first five minutes, was decent. The rest were laughably bad. People talk about no Plan B. We had no Plan A. We did nothing in the game to really get excited about. Lloyd scored a good goal, and was our best outfield player. Kasper kept the score down. The rest of them can bugger off, especially the midfield who were truly abysmal, as a collective. I got my ticket for Tuesday before the game. I can't see more than 12k coming after watching that. It was painful, dire and, most frustratingly, repetitive. We've seen it before, in the past 3 home matches. Shit.
