Same team at the weekend?

Surely!

Please don't say Nigel will change it as it's against the league leaders. We have the players to beat anyone on our day and the players need to believe that if they play well they stay in the team.

What will Nigel do?

Absolutely. Sends the message out that if you perform you stay in the side. I see no reason to make any changes at all.

Just depends on StLedger, if he still wants to leave then I suppose Tunchev will come back in.

SO completely and absolutely. Barring injuries between now and then, it simply must be the same side that starts next time out.

He should pick the best team he feels wins the game.

Every time in recent memory I can think of where we have kept the same team after an excellent performance we have lost next game.

Well okay fair enough, if he knows there's a change to be made that will definitely increase our chances of winning the next match then he should make it. But really, changing a team after a convincing victory rarely makes logical sense...

I know but I think we kept the same team after the 4-0 Derby game and we all know what happened.

Wouldn't surprise me if he changed something in defence, you can't give Lambert and co open goals from 2 yards and get away with it.

This is a good point. Though I'm struggling to see what he would change without signing a new CB. To be fair the Findley chance was arguably Kasper's fault and we're not going to be replacing him are we! Peltier definitely has weak moments on the right, but his performance going forward today would make him very difficult to drop as well...

It was Kaspers fault, was a terrible bit of keeping to be honest.

Wouldn't surprise me if he swopped St Ledger for Tunchev....

I'd fear for Pelts on Monday if he has Lallana running at him and Gallagher in front...

4-4-2 away at Southampton with Dyer and Gallagher on the wings is ridiculously aggressive.

Was about to say something similar, Abe and Danns in the middle for me, we need Abe to get back and cover, Forest were awful and still got in behind us a few times.

Much, much tougher game, and how many times have we said don't change a winning side, and how many times have we won consecutive games?

Each game must be judged on it's merit, we don't have many options, one might be Kennedy as left wing for Dyer to help out Konchesky, looked solid enough in the position tonight, always have the option of Dyer on the bench to run at them with fresh legs if we need a goal.

Would love us to make a signing or 2 between now and then.

Also interesting to see if SSL plays, and if they have kissed and made up, would certainly make our transfer activity easier if we didn't have to worry about replacing him, Pearson may try 532 again, with Tunch SSL and Mills.

That's harsh on Kasper. There were 2 errors leading up to the goal. First in midfield, allowing Forest to pick up the ball, and then Gallagher's weak attempt to stop the cross. If you look closely Gally looks to be making a good attempt to stop it but then turns his body away at the last second instead of facing the crosser and getting as much of a block on as possible. The result was a deflection off Gally and the flight was wicked.

On the subject of Gally, he worked really hard tonight to pressurize and tackle back, but his actual tacking technique still looks unconvincing at times.

Before anyone suggests I'd bring Kingy back let me say today's team would be just fine. It will be interesting to see how they cope but we've beaten them once this season and I don't see why we shouldn't have another crack. At least our confidence should be lifted and that's a big thing in football.

He's always been like that, he is always trying to get back and tackle, he is just not very good at it, as long as he doesn't give away a free kick I am happy he gets back there and does his best, same with Dyer, but he at least has some pace. If we want to play 442 effectively we need a right midfielder that can cover the full back.

A word of caution, think we should stay grounded after this win, forrest are average and southampton are anything but and have improved there squad with recent signing`s!
