FrankieADZ Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Fair play to Halsey today, imo i think he just about got everything spot on...easily the best ref in the country atm imv. Also after all hes been thru the last few yrs..pleased hes came back strong from it...seems a genuinely nice guy too.

I have watched MOTD numerous times and he has been shite. But he was good today, and he is definitely better than Howard Webb, shocking ref he is.

Howard Webb our best referee?! Did you see the World Cup final? Did you watch the Playoff game at Cardiff? Do you watch MOTD often? How you think Howard Webb is good is beyond me, its one big myth that he is our best ref. He was shocking last week in the chelsea vs Utd game too.

Along with his assistants, reffed the game superbly today. Superb point for me. Halsey just wants to ref the game with common sense, and he has no agenda to make himself the centre of attention. Someone told me recently that there are a few Premier League refs that are enjoying signing autographs as they enter stadiums of late. That is shocking.
ian_marshall Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 I thought Halsey was excellent yesterday, and was clearly a class above the usual dross that we seem to get. As others have mentioned he went about his job in a quiet and effective manner. I was really impressed with his handling of persistent attempts of some players to try and break up the play and thought this was exemplified by the way that Cardiff deemed it necessary to sub Kiss before he was sent off. Top performance from a very good referee.Well done Mark Halsey!
