jimbobfox Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Yeah my first ever game (feb 84') Leicester v Ipswich and we won 2-0. I was an Ipswich fan when I was 7 (much to my families disgust), this was because my brother liked Leicester and he was a bit of a kn*b! But arriving at Filbert street (radio gaga blasting out of the speakers) I was very quickly converted. I sat in the family stand with my mum and brothers, cheering on Leicester city with my Ipswich shirt and scarf on! We stuffed a great team in Ipswich town, full of internationals, but they were just beginning their decline from their dizzy heights of the very early 80's. A great era for us, but the little and o'neill eras were fantastic too!

Vlad the Fox Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 I remember a 3-3 draw with Liverpool, was that in that period? Peak Hit two belters if i remember correctly. I was stood in the family stand with my liverpool supporting brother. liniker and smith best partnership up front we have ever had ? With Lynex tearing up the wing. i remember us beating Man U 3-0 in i think the 1984-85 season? 3-0 up after 20 mins against a united who were unbeaten at that point in the season and about ten points clear at the top. A lead they let slip resulting in atkinson getting the sack. I got so much stick from the man u fans at school the week before that game telling me how they were going to stuff us. The following Monday was so good at school, and the Tuesday, Wednesday... Great players from the era, Ian Wilson, Kevin Macdonald, Obviously Lineker, Smith and Lynex. Wallington, Bob Hazel, Tommy Williams, Bobby Smith. This was the first Leicester team that i can properly remember.

carlhltid Posted 12 February 2012 Author Posted 12 February 2012 fa cup semi fanal against spurs shame we lost it
OzFox Posted 13 February 2012 Posted 13 February 2012 That season Lineker, Smith and Lynex got 50 plus goals between them was good Always remember us thrashing QPR 4-0 in about 1984. They were then managed by Terry Venables. Afterwards he said "Leicester's front three would slaughter anybody" We went through a phase of trying to score straight from kick offs, with Lineker & Lynex trying to catch teams on the hop by dribbling/passing their way through. From memory I think it might have worked in that QPR game
Rocket-Ron Posted 13 February 2012 Posted 13 February 2012 any one remember the night match that was called off during the game because of a waterlogged pitch cant remember who we were playing but city were on fire that night can remember lynex falling over and swimming through the water for about 30 meters Sothamton
Cropwellfox Posted 13 February 2012 Posted 13 February 2012 First game I went to was a 5-1 demolition job on covscum Xmas 1984. Lineker, Smith and Lynex all scored, the double decker felt like it was going to fall down from the noise and that was me hooked
Webbo Posted 13 February 2012 Posted 13 February 2012 There was a game against Carlisle (I think ) where both Lynex and Lineker scored hat tricks, although 3 of the goals were penalties.
