Foxhateram Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Christ cheer up a bit. Mills is no superstar but he isn't bad either. Do we really need such negativity about everything all of the time!
Libertine Dream Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Personally I will be happy to see Matt Mills in the blue of Leicester next year and somewhat disappointed if he isn't. Sometimes he does seem to forget the fans but many players have done this and not got the flack. If Im honest I think alot of the time he's that frustrated himself that he wants to be off the pitch as soon as possible. Are these people questioning his attitude the same ones who praised him after the Cov game. I may be mistaken but Im sure people on here liked his attitude that day(I'd look if it wasn't 00:22). It seems ever since Reading some of you lot have just picked faults in him. Some of his blocks are beasts, in the air he's mostly good and his distribution is better than majority give him credit for. At Forest away he made a cracking block, never saw much of a mention of it, somehow think jad SSL or even Tunch had done it, you'd all be bumming it.(couldnt think how to put it)
caz05 Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 They say sarcasm is the biggest form of flattery (or something like that), so don't be offended
Grewks Posted 18 February 2012 Author Posted 18 February 2012 Hope Mills does score tomorrow, what i can guarantee is that if he plays we will concede goals. I do not have a hatred for mills personally, just his performances on and off the pitch.
caz05 Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 I think they actually say "it's the lowest form of wit", that is why I am never sarcastic, (that was sarcasm) see what I did there.

Gold Coast Fox Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Wouldn't be sad to see him sold tbh but if he is here next season he will still get my full support, all be it from 12 000 miles away.
LCFC BEAST Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 I am Mill's biggest fan and as I would be biased for his case I know he's no amazing superstar. He's not a bad player, he does his job at the back and does it well. Yes his decision regarding tackles isn't amazing and neither is his distribution, but all players have flaws and you have to get over that. He said he's not worth 5 million and he couldn't help the price the club played for him, but he has to live up to the expectation to work his arse off to repay price bill. If we get rid of him we'll be going to the same drama as 'St Ledger isn't tall enough, Bamba fvcks around too much, Tunchev is too injury prone' etc, but with Mill's he'll do the same each week. Whether you like him or not, he is our captain and like every other player we should back him to the best that he can be.

Grewks Posted 18 February 2012 Author Posted 18 February 2012 This, 110% How can you see no wrong with Mills? 1 - Distribution Awful, possibly our worst player in this category, we should not be playing the ball to our keeper consistently instead because kasper has better distribution 2 - Temperament Mills may have won us points this season but he has lost an awful lot more - Birmingham and Hull saw two slightly different but still stupid challenges which ultimateley cost us at least a point from each 3 - Captaincy Seems that he would rather give the ref a bollockin than the rest of our players, hence another yellow card for decent against watford, whether he should be the captain or not he needs to take the responsbility and lead by example, he is not doing this. 4 - Aerial battle Whilst he does seem to win a fair few headers, e.g. cardiff before gestede came on, he cannot handle a target man. When we play mills he is played as the CB which should dominate or at least share an aerial battle, as far as i recall he did not beat gestede or iwelumo in the air once.

Another example of such Mills prejudice was against Boro. The two behind me cannot stand Mills and give him stick for everything. Three times we were exposed with Mills as last defender and he made a takcle or block. Silence from my two friends behind. With regards to his distribution, watch any Premier game and note how many times a defender who goes long hits his man. I have, and believe me, Mills is no better or worse than others playing at a higher level, on better wages and bought for more. Finally, I really don't get the criticism of his communication. I sat on row B between the Pen area and half way for the last cup game and can hear the players. Mills is by far the most vocal and has plenty to say. I get that he had a mare against Watford and I accept that from those who were there. Let's be honest, vitually all our players have had one or two of them this season. What I am not so keen on is some of what I consider to be unjust criticism and constant whinging from those who are convinced he is crap and long to justify their opinions by highlighting his shortcomings but ignoring his good play.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Surely this grewks is made up by someone else on here for a wind up. Mcdonalds ffs. Everybody knows Danns and the rest of the crew only ever eat at Nandos!

Grewks Posted 18 February 2012 Author Posted 18 February 2012 You must be a wum. And a poor one at that. No wum, just find it interesting how 'mills is decent'. I know its not his fault we paid £5 mil for him, but we did because of Sven (another argument for another day). I fully expect Pearson to get rid of the dead wood... Mills, Tunch, Wellens, possibly Becks if he is on 40k a week. Nice to see a target man in the summer, maybe emile sinclair, gestede, or fuctacs from pompey now there in admin plus hes only 21. Lets face it Pearson cannot get the best out of mills because mills is simply not good enough, hobbs was and currently is performing better for a 10th of the price, yet when we sold him we were over the moon. Just like when we got rid of fryatt and the yak who only scored goals. replaced them with the £ 4 million goal machine Beckford. Big money signings in this league do not work.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 another example of selective reading, he didnt eat at mcdonalds, he used the loo. What a cheek. Did he not even buy a drink?
Captain... Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 lets face it, you cant argue against my previous post. I could I just choose not to, if you want my views on Mills read some of the many, many, many other threads on the subject, they haven't changed because he didn't look go to McDonalds and look sad, I am impressed that you have nearly 5 pages of responses though, good work. Edit: Oh if you want to know why Mills is decent, check my post again, I have made it clearer.
Grewks Posted 18 February 2012 Author Posted 18 February 2012 What a cheek. Did he not even buy a drink? Instead of creating a counter argument of why mills is so good, you choose to change the topic.

He is an average champ player at best. until we remove mills from the side we cannot introduce consistency. Rather have ST.ledger, bamba and morgan anyday, all show more commitment and better strength.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Instead of creating a counter argument of why mills is so good, you choose to change the topic. No I didn't. I responded to what you wrote. So was it just a wee or was it the full shabang? I do not think I could poo in a McDonalds toilet although I suppose it depends on how desperate you are. What about yourself? Do you poo in public toilets?
Libertine Dream Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Whether your a wum or not grewks, Ill answer each point you make: Distribution: Did you watch Reading last year? One of their main ideas came from the balls that Mills played over the top or down the channel for Long, Kebe and McAnuff to run onto, often they cut it back and scored from it. When we went to the Madejski, Reading were no better than us but this ball ripped us apart. We don't utilise it at all, don't know why but it seems we always want it to feet. Mills will often play it to Wellens who will give it him back and so Mills puts it long as most of the tike this year King and Wellens were uselss with the ball, I often said I don't blame him for missing them out. He has to have a pass on you know? Temperament Should Utd get rid of Rooney because of his temperamnet? No. Thats how some footballers are. Now Im particularly old but I know in days gone by most footballers had a temperament. Ever heard of Billy Bremner? Captaincy: Led Reading to a play off semi final as Captain. And also who else should get it. He is our most vocal player, who else could be captain? Wellens? Would be a useless captain, Schmeichel? Keepers shouldnt be captains. As for your point regarding moaning at referees, I do it all the time in Sunday League, does no harm, just our referees aren't overpaid idiots that want to take attention away from the players. Nugent had a right go at the ref against boro, nothing said, because a)its Nugent b)it was Gavin ward and c)he was right to. Aerial Battle Mills is a cracking player in the air, wins many headers. Most CBs do struggle agaist target men because theyre hard to play, SSL does but doesmt get the flack, even Vidic struggles against some types of player, e.g Torres at 'pool. You cant have a perfect CB in this league. Morgan will handle a target man but never play the passing game that SSL and Mills can.
