rossporterlc Posted 4 July 2005 Posted 4 July 2005 all similar types of music but i'm wondering who you think does it best. i am expecting a landslide victory for coldplay but imo both athlete and keane make better music.
Random Burglar Posted 4 July 2005 Posted 4 July 2005 All 3 are fantastic but i will go for Athelte!! Original and were good live, however upstaged they were by Coldplay when i went to V2003
Filbert_Ross Posted 4 July 2005 Posted 4 July 2005 the 3 most boring bands around, super selections here.
Craig Posted 4 July 2005 Posted 4 July 2005 Athlete were better when they were smaller, their music is nowhere near as good nowadays since they've started selling shit loads of albums. Coldplay have some cracking songs, but once again aren't as good as they were a couple of years ago. Keane bore me to death. frig off. Overall i'd say out of the three now that Coldplay are my favorites, but athlete are close behind.
Oli Posted 4 July 2005 Posted 4 July 2005 Coldplay definatly. Atlete are so boring, all their tunes sound the same. I like Keane though.
Hitesh Posted 4 July 2005 Posted 4 July 2005 Coldplay! I do like the other 2 but Coldplay because they have had 3 really good albums.
Alexikokopops Posted 4 July 2005 Posted 4 July 2005 Keane are a pile of bum, they're lead singer sounds like an 80 year old pipe smoking lesbian grandad (it works, trust me). Athlete are a bit boring, not really listened to much because I don't want to. So I voted Coldplay because Parachutes wasn't a bad album. I saw wasn't a bad album, that has a lot to do with how fantastic Shiver was.
rossporterlc Posted 4 July 2005 Author Posted 4 July 2005 well i was well impressed by athlete's first album, i hadn't heard any of their stuff before but had seen the ad on tv and decided to buy it. the second album also very good. keane album is pretty good too, probably not as much as athlete but definately something to put you in a good mood. i never had parachutes by coldplay, yellow is a quality song though. i have a rush of blood to the head and that is good, a few stand-out tracks such as clocks and the scientist. however, it didn't impress me, not the sort of thing i would listen to on a regular basis, X&Y is not on my list of "albums to buy".
Phil Posted 4 July 2005 Posted 4 July 2005 I have seen all the bands at least once. all cracking bands but if I had to pick an order: 3, Athlete 2, Keane 1, Coldplay Keane and Coldplay are very close, but Coldplay have more material.
Muz Posted 4 July 2005 Posted 4 July 2005 I used to really like Athlete but now ive drifted away from Indie music. Out of that list Coldplay get my vote.
Matt Posted 4 July 2005 Posted 4 July 2005 I'm sure people know who I voted for! Plenty of people know of my love for Coldplay!
AcidRoyal Posted 4 July 2005 Posted 4 July 2005 Personally i think keane sound better on the radio, but coldplay are one of the best live bands so i voted coldplay athlete are not very original and bit boring to listen to
WereAllFoxed Posted 4 July 2005 Posted 4 July 2005 athletes first album was good and original but tourist is crap, theyve changed to another coldplay clone. Only one or two of the songs from tourist would get on vehicles and animals.
C-man Posted 5 July 2005 Posted 5 July 2005 Keane are boooring, Athlete have a few good songs, but Coldplay are decent. They aren't my favourite band by any means, but have had a few great albums
Deathside Posted 5 July 2005 Posted 5 July 2005 They are all PooFarty Keene are a fake band because they don't have a guitar If I had to vote I would choose Athlete under the grounds that their name is best of the 3 when you add Foot to it IE Coldplay Foot Keene Foot Athlete Foot
Nationwider Posted 5 July 2005 Posted 5 July 2005 Couldn't choose a favourite band overall. However, my three favourite albums by the above are: 1 - Keane "Hopes & Fears" 2 - Coldplay "A Rush of Blood..." 3 - Athlete - "Vehicles & Animals"
