Norwich away was quality and i'm now a fan of "we love you"

Having not really managed to make too many away days this season, due to finances, I think I can only really count West Ham as a proper away day this season, I've driven to a few others. Norwich was the best day out since the Cardiff Semi Final Defeat (just).

thought the backing we gave the players on saturday was excellent, maybe NCFC had got our backs up a little with the ticket issue and that may have spurred us into action, but saturday was just how I remember our away days under B.Little and MON, maybe we were the underdogs and felt we had something to prove, but for me that is how you should back your team, same as Cardiff, non-stop for 90mins. I accept maybe not everyone feels that way, but fair play to everyone at Carrow Road on Saturday.

I was an sceptic of "we love you" as I felt we were very late on jumping on a band wagon with it, but if that's what people want to join in with and it helps produce something like saturday and we can bring some of that back to Filbert Way, then I for one will accept that some backing is better than the booing and getting on players backs. Can we just make sure, that we don't become a one song club, once everyone is up and joining in, lets make sure we take advantage and get some of the more traditional songs going.

But I for one have turned, may even move my season ticket next season, always thought L1 was full of the darker side of our support that belonged in the 70's and 80's but I have to give Jobber and that section some praise for recent efforts against Cardiff and boro, getting behind the team can only be a positive thing.

Maybe just Maybe we can drag some of that long gone Filbert Street atmosphere to the Walkers(i know). And make next season the best since our promotion season.

Prehaps the owners could reward the fans with some cheaper season tickets and try to fill the ground every week. Let's get the next generation into the ground and imprint in them, that backing the team is what we should be there for, yes we all have a right to let them know if they aren't putting in a shift, but lets save that for full-time.

There certainly seems to have been a shift in fans attitudes at home games very recently, partly I think because of a rekindled 'togetherness' which we had under O'Neill, brought about by Pearson and this whole, Leicester have spent millions and are shit, view of us externally. Also of course partly and more so down to the 'We love you' chant which has gone down very well.

I'd say that Norwich's atmopshere was even better than Cardiff Away (play-off). Although we sang we love you a lot, we sang much more songs at Norwich. Although we were loud, I didn;t think we were very creative at Cardiff.

Anyway, let's hope we keep it up and the home atmosphere keeps improving. As a STH in Sk1 I certainly hope the Kop bucks it's ideas up and starts singing!!

To quote Bayfox: "always thought L1 was full of the darker side of our support that belonged in the 70's and 80's"

Not so, at least in my experience. TBH, as we are only 'part-time' fans due to travel distance, we tend to get tickets in J3, which is close to K and L, As long as you're near the back of J3, standing and singing is encouraged. And it's not all kids, I'll just say I now qualify for a slightly reduced ticket price, and I'm not getting any younger! J3 is safe, so much so that I'm taking my wife to the Cov game - her first trip to the KP - and we've gone for J3 rowJJ as usual. She may be slightly surprised at some of the language, but I'll try to get son to tone it down a tad!

I can't quote on my phone, but your third paragraph about becoming a one song club was my main worry. Whilst I shall never sing it myself providing it spurs the other fans into singing our songs too ill accept it. A few times on Saturday I got the whole crowd going with the older songs, breaking in on the We Love You chant, and it seemed to work. My mate though said himself on Saturday that we sing it too often. (and that was his first game he's been to since its started to be sung by us)

He's plastic then, his view doesn't count ;)

In all seriousness, we did sing it a lot! As you say as long as we're still singing other songs and have a good mixture I'm all for it.

EVERYTHING IN FOOTBALL IS unoriginal! Why won't people just grow up and go wth it? It's a bloody song thats all it is and it's given us the best atmosphere we've had in the ground home and away in about 8 years! Long may it continue

That's exactly what the guy originally said.

Your first comment is bollocks. All songs originate from somewhere. The fact that you tell people to grow up just whows how immature you are. If you can't see that some fans dont want to sing this song whilst sacrificing others then its you needing to grow up. Whilst to an extent I've changes my mind on it, I'll always maintain that its a sad indictment on our fans and the majority of football fans when theyre willing to learn and sing the words to this song yet refuse to learn the words to the traditional ones

Why can't you accept that most of the traditional songs you yearn for were copied and far from sacrificing these songs it appears to be encouraging people to join in when they are sung.

I think this is a little bit simplistic, I thing the part of the problem is down to the amount of coverage football now gets, it's so easy to copy and pick up words to songs from other clubs and just rehash them to suit your club. I know this has always happened to some extent but to say there is no originality if football is harsh, everything must start somewhere and at that point it is original.

Look at ourselves, WYS, Post Horn Gallop, Liverpool with you'll never walk alone, Everton with Zcars, with the exception of Celtic doing YNWA certain things stick with certain clubs and become their own in a way, I'm not saying I have a problem with using popular songs to boost the atmosphere, as i've stated above, I'm fine if it helps, but when you have people singing Iwan is a Welshman which is what 15 years old and has no relation to the current playing squad (apart from maybe Thursday Night) then it's time to get creative (before you start no i'm not going to suggest anything) But jobber did offer on Radio Leicester, that if you have something that you think maybe worth giving a shot or could be unique to our club, then why not go have a word with him and see what we can do.

Whilst this band wagon of creating an atmosphere is gathering a little pace, why not try to get creative.

I was invited to a supporters forum at the city the other week but had to turn it down if anyone can tell me what was discussed and if the issue of the atmosphere was brought up i'd be interested to know, I'm emailing the club to see if there was an agenda or notes taken and have asked for a place at the next once, If anyone would like this issue raised then feel free to PM me with your points and I'll do my best to take them up with the club if invited back.

I have fond memories of Pen1/SK1 at Filbert St and although maybe i'm not the same person I was as a teenager, I want to bring my kids up with a club that they are proud to follow and can enjoy being part of a positive atmosphere.

The culture of singing by LCFC was dying on its feet (seat) this song seems to have reignited singing as part of supporting the team with all 4 sides of the ground having an input, maybe inhibitions are being cast aside so let's hope that it can be built on and some new songs as well as appropriate old songs get sung, this song will eventually stop being sung by most of the clubs currently singing it whether we'll be one that carries on with it no one knows, that's football.

MEOW! ;) Isn't it as sign of moving on with the times? All the "traditional" songs have their place in the ground and to my knowledge L and K sing them pretty regularly no one is saying we should get rid of them. Numerous people have praised how we used We love you at Norwich to then start other classic songs and people started to get involved and learn them... still i doubt learning woah woah woah will knock too many songs out of our heads  And yes your right all songs originate from "somewhere" But the majority are copied hence how we now share the Poznan and We love you with at least 20 clubs but how many sing come on ______ come on ____ or _____ la la la _____ la la la or na na na na na na hey ______ Are these all to be dropped from our song list? Do they make you cringe with the same anamosity as "we love you" or do you not sing these ones either? Please tell me what songs you join in on that you thought up all by yourself Tune Lyrics and all and isn't wank

Shirts are majorly made by a handful of kit makers giving the similer designs to all clubs

Players play for many teams in their lifetime

Songs get copied from team to team

Life goes on. just cheer up and sing along

True, I'm for anything that gets the crowd going.

Oh sorry no, I'm a liar.

As I have said many times before I hate the drum!!!!!!

So I am for anything that gets the crowd going-EXCEPT FOR THE DRUM

Stu... Shut up for fooks sake...

It's a great chant and one that everyone can join in on... Young and old.

Have you actually stopped to consider that the reason we make so much noise with this chant is because almost everyone can sing it and enjoy doing so.

If you don't want to then don't...

I don't.

Have you ever stopped to consider WHY everyone is willing to join in? Thats my point and issue.

And other songs don't?

Well to be quite frank no they don't not as well as this song imo, yes WYS full blasting out and some older chants would be good but atm this chant is producing the goods as far as atmosphere is concerned, the players like it so we should continue.
