MikeyT Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 I can't find it anywhere but there was a picture from The Sun of Michael Jackson, just after he died 'waving to his fans' as he rehearsed for his This Is It tour. The headline was a quote from him that said; "I'm one of the loneliest people on this Earth, I cry sometimes because it hurts." I just thought that contrast of happiness from the picture and his inner despair was haunting and a sad reflection on how the media killed one of the world's greatest ever talents.
Guest MattP Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 Seconded. Compare that to the picture above.
rico Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 May still be the only time it will ever happen !

You mean the picture was in The Sun after he died or it was a picture of him waving after he died... that may have been the Thriller video.
Houdini Logic Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 The videos from the Bradford fire always seem to get to me. Id have a look to see if the images do the same, but I don't really want to look if I'm honest. Some 'good' photos on this thread

Some 'good' photos on this thread The guy on fire just casually walking on the pitch I will always remember. Poor man.
Zingari Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 i was going to post the same photo , along with the horrific "frame 313" , but i'll post frame 312 instead
21st Century Fox Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 Its weird how poignant seems to bring our death in most peoples minds. Most of these pictures bar a few are examples of man's own inhumanity. Its just weird how it gravitates that way.
FuriousFox46 Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 You mean the picture was in The Sun after he died or it was a picture of him waving after he died... that may have been the Thriller video. No, it wasn't. He was ghost white in the picture, it was him rehearsing for 'This Is It', it was the last page of their souvenir. I have the paper somewhere, I'll post it when I can
MikeyT Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 William H. Bonney AKA Henry Antrim AKA William Henry Mcarty Jr. ...also known as Billy "The Kid". Think this is the only known photo of him.
FuriousFox46 Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 Seconded. Compare that to the picture above. Oh for God's sake. I'm hardly saying that Michael Jackson's death was anywhere near as tragic as the Holocaust. The thread is for poignant pictures, the holocaust is clearly as tragic as it can get. Does that mean, I shouldn't bother responding, simply because the implications aren't as tragic?

acooling08 Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 This is from the My Lai massacre in the Vietnam war, when US troops slaughtered many innocent Vietnamese men, women and children in this small village. The people in this picture were killed seconds later. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Lai_Massacre
MikeyT Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 The first photo ever taken in history. The first photo ever taken of a person. A man getting his shoes shined in France. Towards bottom left.
MikeyT Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 Without sounding terribly clichéd, this photo really does speak a thousand words. Very sad.
acooling08 Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 Cannot believe that people are putting Michael Jackson pictures in the same thread as holocaust, disaster pics etc. Shocking really, especially considering he was a paedophile. Another My Lai massacre pic.
Amin Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 Cannot believe that people are putting Michael Jackson pictures in the same thread as holocaust, disaster pics etc. Shocking really, especially considering he was a paedophile. So what? People can post what they like.

Right, so this thread should be renamed "Holocaust pictures" yes? As for the Michael Jackson remark, he was proven innocent y'know.
FuriousFox46 Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 Cannot believe that people are putting Michael Jackson pictures in the same thread as holocaust, disaster pics etc. Shocking really, especially considering he was a paedophile. Innocent until proven guilty. He was acquitted... twice.
