bald reynard Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 For those now recovered from the Scrumpy last night, could you post some City player ratings please ?
DorsetFox9 Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 hard to see from where they put you at Bristol. just know they cut through us like a knife through butter when they wanted to.
Tielemans63 Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 Ironic that Wes Morgan was brought in for exactly this sort of game and then puts in his worst performance by a distance.
foxer Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 It was very hard to see what was going on at the other end but; Kasper Certainly couldn't have done anything about their first and for the 2nd and 3rd I couldnt really see. Some fantastic distribution from him though. Kennedy was at fault for their two in the second half according to my mate who could actually see from the home end. Peltier was below par. Morgan looked better going forward than he did at the back. SSL wasn't fantastic, some good challenges but quite what we were doing at the back to concede three against Bristol I don't know. Danns tried hard and was delighted with his goal (as was I until 2 mins later) Wellens got about a lot, not much else to say about him. Dyer took his goal well. Marshall was ok and kept to his position well, meaning that we did have some width at times but he didnt seem to have confidence or pace to take his man on effectively and get in a decent cross. Beckford was poor, Nugent wasnt himself at all and was snatching at his chances. Subs: Drinkwater wasn't great from where I was sitting but my mate again said that he picked out a couple of good passes. Perhaps he was meaning passes to Bristol players? Schlupp looked good when he came one and held the ball up nicely. Was unlucky with his volley at the end when he clashed with Nuge. Lets move on to the reading game and have a good old go at Chelsea!
Thracian Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 Sounds as if Konchesky was badly missed - he's perhaps our best defender in terms of the energy and attitude needed to move forwards and backwards consistently as a unit.
cuddly ken Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 Thought that Morgs did ok and SSL too, question now is will NP bring in Sol? And if so at whose expense? Having conceded 3 goals I'm sure Sol would be expecting to get back in. We have 3 first class CB so it's just a case of NP using them in the right way and times, I'm sure that way all three would accept that as being fair.
Dan Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 Schmeichel - 6. He's had better games, thought he could've done better with their first. I still think his positivity at times looks totally out of place in our team. Peltier - 5. His confidence seems to have seriously dropped. He's nowhere near as positive as before. SSL - 5. Not a lot to comment on, positioning for goals pretty dodgy. Morgan - 6. Didn't actually think he had too bad a game, was involved attacking more often than you'd imagine. Kennedy - 5. Poor. Offered nowhere near as much going forward as Konchesky and had an average defensive game. Marshall - 5. Uninvolved. Again. Danns - 6. Only gets a 6 for his goal, thought he had a weak game again. Wellens - 6. Didn't really do anything. Dyer - 6. Scored a goal, but quiet again. Beckford - 5. Hardly did a thing (I swear I'm repeating myself and saying this for everyone) Nugent - 5. Completely ineffective. Subs; Schlupp - 6. Tried to be fair but overall, not good enough. Drinkwater - 5. Even he looked off the boil. Gallagher - N/A no real impact time. Ref - 6.
lcfcbaby Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 Morgan - 6. Didn't actually think he had too bad a game, was involved attacking more often than you'd imagine. Wouldn't want to see him partner Bamba could see them both get forward too much! Could create some problems at the back!
Dan Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 He wasn't really getting it and bombing forward like Bamba, he just happened to come out with it whenever we had a cross that got cleared or something. Probably his worst game for us but I don't think he was terrible, to be honest every player let us down, not one of them had a good game.

Still can't see Pearson playing Bamba and Morgan at the same time. This has nothing to do with my liking for SSL. Well maye only a little... Do you think there will be many changes for reading match?
inckley fox Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 We're going to see a centre half in at right back before long. By all accounts Pearson picks Peltier out for special criticism from the touchlines (those of you who sit behind the dugout may be able to back this up). Also think Marshall has had his chance and needs a spell in the reserves. That said, I think it's our midfield engine room which is seriously inconsistent. A friend of mine made another very good point when I said Nugent is the star of the season because he's hit 13/14 goals, but that our problem is inconsistency. He said "How did you do in the games he scored?" "Well, we won or drew nearly all of them." "Then, if inconsistency is your problem, he's part of it." Didn't go last night, but I gather it was a '5s all round' performance. My dad reckons Kennedy was alright, but his favourite City player is Paul Ramsey so there you go.
inckley fox Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 Ex-City player, that is. And yes I know that we have lost some games Nugent has scored in. But you get the point.
robbieLOVESthealmightylcfc Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 kasper - 6 pelts - 6 morgan - 7.5 motm ssl - 5 kennedy - 5 marshall - 6 danns - 6 wellens -6 dyer -6 would be five if it wasnt for the goal becks- 5 nuge -5 subs DDW - 6 did pretty good when he came on imo schlupp - 5 gallly NA
stevelcfc Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 Wouldn't want to see him partner Bamba could see them both get forward too much! Could create some problems at the back! Have enough as it is.
lcfcbaby Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 Have enough as it is. Exactly changing it won't help!
lcfcbaby Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 Glad Nige has sorted that defence out now Is this sarcasm?
lcfcbaby Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 Might be To be fair though chances are a team will have a disaster day and recently our defence has been consistently good! I think our defence is beginning to take shape! But the 3 goals conceded is a warning that we have to be careful!
lcfcbaby Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 Got Sven fired Sven spend a load of money and the owners weren't getting a return!
lcfcbaby Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 Glad they are now They will do! Pearson is having to make do with a bunch of players rather than a team! Still dont seem to be fusing though there is an improvement! Progressive play works a lot better with SSL in the side!
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 Got Sven fired Who got Sven fired? He got himself fired for his ridiculous spending and not getting the results.
