lcfcbaby Posted 8 March 2012 Posted 8 March 2012 the defence looked shambolic Which particular players? Who would you put in defence?
Bugg Posted 8 March 2012 Posted 8 March 2012 Peltier has been poor for a while, about time he got dropped. Is Paintsil back yet
Out Foxed Posted 8 March 2012 Posted 8 March 2012 Which particular players? Who would you put in defence? i'd keep the same defence, i think they just switched off for the game because they thought they could beat bristol easily.
iamafox Posted 8 March 2012 Posted 8 March 2012 Peltier has been poor for a while, about time he got dropped. Is Paintsil back yet Paintsil won't do any better than Peltier.
Bugg Posted 8 March 2012 Posted 8 March 2012 Paintsil won't do any better than Peltier. Why is that? John Paintsil is a proven premier league defender. He wasn't great in a couple of games, but neither were several other members of the squad back then. In my opinion Paintsil is a far superior defender in terms of experience and ability, plus, he will actually put in a cross instead of Peltier's backwards passing.

Yes but prior to his move here, he had never played in the Championship. It is a far different league than the Premier League and I don't think that the Championship suits his style of play. He was prone to errors when he played for West Ham and Fulham and I wasn't excited when he first came here, so I don't rate him.

So you're telling me that because he played in a league with better quality opposition that he'd struggle in this league. Paintsil was a key member of a side that got into the final of the Europa League, Peltier has no where near the quality that Paintsil has, yes Paintsil made a few bad errors against good opposition, so what? I'd still rather have him in the side than Peltier at the moment. I wonder why so many goals against us have been scored from the right side of the pitch, hmmm... Even if you don't rate Paintsil that much, surely you must agree that Peltier should be dropped for his current abysmal form, most players in other positions would be dropped if they were playing as poorly as Peltier currently.

We'll see if Pearson will play him and then see how well he plays.
Happy Fox Posted 8 March 2012 Posted 8 March 2012 Peltier is still a bit weak and vulnerable atm, we could do with Pantsil in the side for the mean time. Still being overrun in midfield is no coincidence we really need a hard bollocking defensive midfielder.

If he was that proven he'd still be playing there! Poor signing, poor player.
Dan Posted 8 March 2012 Posted 8 March 2012 Seenitall, thought he'd improved, clearly mistaken. Sven had far longer than Pearson. I guarantee, absolutely am 100% positive that if Pearson had took over on the day Sven did, on the day Sven got sacked, we would be in a far, far better position. And eventually, we will be. This season's a write-off, a lot of work next year but Pearson I think will deliver.
RizLCFC Posted 8 March 2012 Posted 8 March 2012 I thought Kasper should've stayed back for their first 2 goals rather than rushing out, made it easier for the Bristol scorers to place their shots. The defence looked so slow compared to recent games. Definitely missed Konchesky's drive going forward, we usually start our attacks through him but we just seemed to lump the ball forward on Tuesday. Peltier's form has slipped quite dramatically, we seem to be conceding a lot of our goals down the right.

A goalkeepr rushing out makes it more difficult to place shots and makes a player rush, one of the first things a keeper is taught, narrow the angle.

For the first goal Cisse had Morgan and St. Ledger around him no need for Kasper to rush out, fair enough the second was better to run out to, but how much space did the Bristol player have to place his shot at the near post? I love Kasper and he's definitely been one of our better players, I just though he could've done more for them 2 goals, not his best game!

Well the first one is hit between st ledgers legs and thats what always does the keeper, 2nd on are you taking the piss? Hes one of the best around when it comes to one on ones and so often saves them because he is so aggressive in coming out quick! and where have you got this near post thing from??? Thought he had a great game made one good save from pitmann first half and was so unlucky when making a great save from the deflection on the 3rd to see it come out off the post, and as usual distriution was prem class, you have to remember when it comes to goalkeeping its not just about making great saves it's also about what you bring to the team and in Schmeichel we have a unique goalkeeper who cannot only make great saves but also dictate play through his distribution but most importantly he does the simple things well and makes them look easy and that's the sign of the top goalkeeper.
