ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 if you are travelling with kids, the best way ive found is to travel to milton keynes and go from there because kids u16 are £1 with an accompanying adult (this can also be done for 2 children, as long as one of the children is full paying). i'm getting the coach from leicester to milton keynes and then the train from milton keynes to west brompton via watford and back costing a grand total of £10.80

mattsmith74 Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 I've said on another post that an option is to drive to Watford Junct and then train into Fulham Broadway. Cost me about 7 quid last time I did that and about a fiver to park. No good if you fancy a few sherbets tho.
Matt Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 Right I looked on the nationalrail.co.uk website last night and unless I selected something wrong I found £20 return from Nuneaton, obviously you need to get to Nuneaton but that isn't going to cost any more than £10 surely? I went to the station today just to check I was right and hadn't selected anything wrong but there was no one to ask, so after I get my match tickets tomorrow I'm going to the station to check and buy the train tickets. Really hope I'm right as that is unbelievably cheap to London!! ....and that is why I'm doubting myself! **You do have to book the train times but that is no hassle.
Iwan Roberts tooth fairy Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 If you're in a group of 4, you can get return tickets from Rugby and Nuneaton for £20. Then obviously your taxi fair or lift cost to either of these places. For our group of 6, we are saving £22 per person againts the basis of a £50 Leicester to London direct train.

Happy Fox Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 National express is pretty cheap just go from Leicester St Margaret's to London Victoria Coach station then it a 3 mile walk to Stamford Bridge, alternative instead of the trains.
