svensson Posted 19 March 2012 Posted 19 March 2012 When the bulk of the players put in a performance as inept, lazy and gutless as that rubish on sunday then they deserve all the criticism they get. That 'performance' on sunday was downright disrespectful to the 6000+ fans who paid good money to follow their club. I only hope that they all managed to get some enjoyment from the day, there was precious little to be had from watching the football on offer..... Thats just not true at all, we actually went to Chelsea to win the game, most teams go and put 11 men behind the ball. You seem to underestimate the team we played against, 80% of the premier league wouldnt have got near chelsea when they started playing 1 and 2 touch stuff. They gave it a proper go and to claim they were lazy is factually incorrect, they were chasing shadows most of the afternoon. You really dont have a clue
Guest Col city fan Posted 19 March 2012 Posted 19 March 2012 Of course we are not good enough to knock Chelsea out of the cup (on paper anyway) but I really did believe that we would have made them work much harder for their win. Agree with you entirely about our formation and setup and I assume that is down to NFP, but the way the underdog gets a result in a game like sundays is to be intense and focused and get after the opposition, which we really did not do. Sure we ran about a lot, made a few tackles, even got a few shots on goal but at no point did I get the impression that any of our players believed they could get anything out of the day, and to be frank, thats how they played. That's what I mean by lack of effort...... You won't win this one Dave.....give it up Remember 'type 1' fan in my previous post. The forum is full of them.
Cecchini1976 Posted 19 March 2012 Posted 19 March 2012 I expected us to lose yesterday, but expected a better performance from the team as a whole. For us to have got anything from the game all 11 players needed to be on top form, unfortunately they were not. I thought Chelsea won at a canter and did not have to get out of 2nd gear. I believe the reason for this was are tactics were wrong, and by the time Pearson changed it, it was to late, but he could not know we would defend so badly for the 1st 2 goals ( well all the goals), the goals we conceded had nothing 2 do with Chelsea's class, it was down to very poor play. Cahill free header, and why oh why did Wellens not take 1 for the team and foul Torres in the build up to the 2 nd goal. It was a good day out though.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 19 March 2012 Posted 19 March 2012 We criticize them on a forum, at least we don't do stuff like the Wolves fans did to O'Hara Exactly. I'd never boo at a game but what is the point in having a forum if not to vent your frustrations as well as share your joys?
marbelladave Posted 19 March 2012 Posted 19 March 2012 You won't win this one Dave.....give it up Remember 'type 1' fan in my previous post. The forum is full of them. Yeah, you're probably right, reminds me of an old saying; "You can always tell a Leicester City supporter................ But you can't tell him much!...........
z-layrex Posted 19 March 2012 Posted 19 March 2012 I dont know about you guys but no way would I read fan forums if I was a professional footballer, way too thin skinned. It must be tough being in a job where every move you make is judged by thousands of people. Of course the disgusting wages must help.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 19 March 2012 Posted 19 March 2012 Exactly. I'd never boo at a game but what is the point in having a forum if not to vent your frustrations as well as share your joys? Exactly! I don't boo, just keep my frustrations inside and don't say anything.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 20 March 2012 Posted 20 March 2012 Exactly! I don't boo, just keep my frustrations inside and don't say anything. Used to do this but now when ever i'm frustrated we seem to sing We love you louder and louder which i think has really made a difference at home. Instead of booing like barnsley we're going mental like Borough and Brum and look at the results it's bagged us! West Hams atmosphere at home is volatile and there results are proof that getting on your teams back doesn't help but in fact hinder the players. frustrated booing fans just vent your feelings by singing and clapping louder and louder until we score
cc_star Posted 20 March 2012 Posted 20 March 2012 Not read the posts, so just going from the thread title There's support, there's criticism (constructive or just negative) & there's maliciously picking on players This forum is full of the latter this season, perhaps it's because after the promise the Thai's bought to the club we believe we have a right to be amongst the top 2 & depite outspending the whole division added together bar one team we've fallen well short that people frustration is boiling over all the time Perhaps it's just the fact that people sit their anonymously behind their computer spouting whatever crap comes into their heads... just like has been aimed at Paul & Haley Gallagher on twitter which is an absolute fvcking disgrace. This has been a joke of a season, right from the summer, its expectations, the manager's clueless-ness in getting a formation & tactics right over the summer, having to adapt after some crappy performances, having that adaption only work temporarily, before the players give up altogether, then sacking the manager & replacing him with one that was forced out to make way for the 'name' that so badly failed, then have the mentality problems so deeply rooted that it can;t be sorted out despite having plenty of time for a promotions push. The biggest joke of all is that despite all this - we still are capable of winning 2-to-3 games more than the teams around us & being the team that comes from nowhere to sneak in to the playoffs - and this gives us fans extra hope, which of course means more disappointment and yet more frustrations from the hive-mind which boils over into unnecessary personal abuse aimed at a couple of select players, like them alone is responsible for the whole disastrous era that has been brought in by the Thai owners. Fvcking ridiculous! We've got the chance to build something, which we were doing back in 2008-2010, before this all went wrong - we need to support the players that are here & if they struggle then simply support them some more!!! The manager has signed a technical wide-man in Marshall who's a young lad & will grow into the role at the club and chances are that he could be at the club for a number of years including his prime and given his skillset - I'm excited about his future. We've also got a young lad in Drinkwater, in the middle who will probably go on to do the same. But these things take time. We don't have a divine right to be in the top 2, so stop acting like we have & support everyone at the club to help towards an upward curve with the knowledge that this season's woes will take the departure of a few rotten eggs & a couple of replacements to sort it. nothing good is easy & instant, it takes time. the personal abuse we're seeing serves no one any favours.

Les-TA-Jon Posted 20 March 2012 Posted 20 March 2012 Great post CC Star! Wouldn't go as far to say that the Thai era has to date been disastrous though. Mismanaged and impatient yes, but not necessarily that bad
