Panic Buying

Ok let's go back to your lottery ticket scenario you made in the match thread.

Hopefully i'll win the lottery tonight, i've not bother to go to the shop to get a ticket but hopefully i'll win....

Compare it to Beckford...I hoped he'd score today, but he wasn't bother to run, get the ball and have a shot.

See the similarity? To quote the phrase 'You don't buy a ticket, you won't win the raffle'.

I don't mean any offence by this, but I can't be bothered to argue with you.

I really don't think you understand what luck is and I don't think you understand anything I've posted on the subject.

Luck is luck is luck. Yes you have to give yourself the opportunity to be lucky, but you cannot make luck.

Luck does not exist in a tangible form.

I expect the quote 'the more I practice, the luckier I get' is lost on you also.

Your so sexy!!

Thanks. I've been making sex-appeal in the quiet moments in breaks when I'm not trying to make luck.

People who aren't sexy just don't make enough sex-appeal. Fools.

Petrol should be prioritised for the better drivers - so banning young people, old people and women from buying any should be an immediate focus.

A man needed hospital treatment after a fire started when he tried to fill up a moped with fuel in his living room.

He suffered burns to his hands in the blaze at a terraced home in Marfitt Street, Belgrave, Leicester.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service have issued a warning about the dangers of storing or handling fuel in the home

The living room and kitchen of the house were badly damaged and the moped was destroyed.

It is unclear if the injured man was filling up his moped in his home because of the recent panic buying of fuel.

Following the blaze on Thursday, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service issued a warning about the dangers of storing or handling fuel in the home.

Rich Taylor, the fire service's head of community safety, said: "The refuelling of petrol vehicles should only take place in well-ventilated areas away from combustible materials.

"It is extremely dangerous to store or handle petrol in a confined space such as a living room.

"We do not recommend the public store petrol at home.

"If there is a need to store petrol for use in a small appliance, such as a lawnmower, this should be kept away from the home in a well-ventilated building and stored in an approved container away from any combustible materials."

Firefighters were called to the address at about 2.40pm.

Crew manager Craig Hallam said: "When we turned the corner into the street we saw a lot of smoke coming from the house and a large crowd gathered outside.

"We established that the sole occupier, a middle-aged man, had managed to get out in time.

"Entering the house, the living room at the back of the property and the kitchen were well alight.

"When I saw the moped on fire in the middle of the room I thought to myself 'now that is strange'."

The man was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken by ambulance to Leicester Royal Infirmary.

It does say they don't know if it was caused by panic buying (although the timing would make it an incredible coincidence) but it does highlight just how monumentally stupid the Government's advice was.

It also highlights how very stupid this dolt was. There was enough news following the daft advice to at least sow the seed of doubt - even in the peanut of a brain this chap has.

For sure the guy was a bit of an idiot, but when the Government makes statements like they did, who are more likely to blindly follow?

If you tell an idiot to do something stupid, and he does it, then you are just as big an idiot.

(unless you are manipulating this idiot into doing something stupid for your own benefit, then of course you are an evil mastermind planning to take over the world...)
