Peltier- 7 (Generally did well)

Morgan- 8 (Absolute rock at the back. Provided a great chant too)

Bamba- 6 (Too easily beaten in the first half, improved second)

Konchesky- 8 (Made a brilliant tackle to deny Ipswich, got forward well and supplied a couple of excellent crosses)

Dyer- 4 (No impact whatsoever)

Wellens- 7 (Good)

Drinkwater- 5 (Struggled)

Marshall- 7 (Great free-kick)

Beckford- 5 (Missed good opportunities and generally easy to deal with for Ipswich)

Nugent- 8 (Ran himself into the ground, scored and was always a threat)

King- 7 (Booked for a "dive", but unlike before got stuck in and supported the attack and defence)

He was woeful and clumsy. Schlupp should start in front of him in my opinion

Schmeichel 7 - Some very good saves in the first half. Barely troubled second half. Dealt with set-pieces a lot better too, more willing to come off his line today than in recent games.

Peltier 8 - Very, very good today imo.

Morgan 8 - Rock solid.

Bamba 6 - The weak link of the defence today. Got turned too easily by Scotland a few times in the first half which lead to their goal. Improved second half, mind.

Konchesky 7 - Good at the back, even when having to deal with Jay Emmanuel-Thomas in the second half. Supported the attack well also.

Dyer 5 - Largely ineffective.

Drinkwater 5 - Poor. Very careless in possession.

Wellens 7 - Decent.

Marshall 7 - PING.

Beckford 5 - Awful finishing. BUT, he got himself in fantastic positions which can only be a good thing, the finishes will come. Looked lacking in confidence, taking too many touches and just clumsy on the whole.

Nugent 7 - Excellent finish for the goal, good work rate especially when pushed out wide towards the end of the game.

King 6.5 - Loses half a point for the dive, don't like to see that. Other than that was very influential.

Gallagher - 7 The half time substitutions changed the game. Looked very threatening going forward, decent shift helping out at the back too.

Howard 6 - Did a job, nothing spectacular.

Morgan was a solid wall at the back unfortunately Bamba was the gate through that wall, he didn't have a bad game but he does seem to let players past him far too often!

Totally agree with your remarks about Beckford. He worked fairly hard and on another day could have had a hat-trick

The fact it was his second game in 3 days didn't help matters either, hoping the shluppinator gets a decent run out for 60 mins against Millwall then seeing what Beckford can do off the bench. Competition in this manor can only be healthy

OK, I could have/should have written this as soon as I got home - which would have probably been before anyone else on here got to Ipswich train station!

The first half, was poor - they had about 10 corners, and we had none. So few opportunities for us, and each was wasted. Could have easily been 3 or 4 down by half time.

Second half, Gallagher made such a difference, and King played very well, so unlucky not to get a penalty and his booking was a shocker. Paul Jewell said on the local radio that they never got over the equaliser on the stroke of half time, but in my mind it was the substitutions that they couldn't deal with.

Ratings:

Schmeichel - 8. Immense as always, easily our best 'keeper of recent times.

Peltier - 6. Struggled at times I thought, but showed some signs of promise.

Morgan - 8. Played well, very impressed.

Bamba - 6.5. Fantastic one minute, car crash the next. Poor passing let him down, got turned too many times.

Konchesky - 8. Great gutsy performance.

Dyer - 6. Didn't really do well today. Generally I'm a fan, but he looked poor today.

Drinkwater - 5. Not a good match at all. Lost possession too many times.

Wellens - 7. One of his better games, but he still lost possession a few times which against a better team could have been very dangerous.

Marshall - 8. Another thumping goal. Great great things to come from him.

Beckford - 5. A luxury we can't afford. We should not be playing a striker who can't hit the net when we have so much to play for at the moment. Schlupp would have buried at least 2 of his fluffed chances. Got into good positions, but so did Akinbiyi.

Nugent - 8. Really really wish I had a punt on him scoring, as so many Town mates of mine said he would defo score. Worked very well, great finish.

King - 7.5. Some good running, was unlucky to have got a booking. Great elsewhere, welcome back!

Gallagher - 8. covered more of the pitch in 45 mins than Beckford did in 90. Turned the game for us.

Howard - 6.5. No real impact - maybe given more time he could have done more.
