Let's be honest all this is futile stuff in the grand scheme of things. If we hadn't appointed a Spanish PE teacher in the summer and stunk the place out for 30 odd games with wasters on the pitch then points deduction or not we'd be in no peril. Equally if Rowett is up to anything he should be able to guide us away from the iceberg to safety. Situation 1 - We stay up and he does alright, board will probably think he's the right man to kick on with his own staff, players in and out etc. Situation 2 - We get relegated. They will see him as a very good manager for a league 1 club so keep him to try and rebuild during a firesale whereby we can't attract a manager of any substance. Only way I think he doesn't stay beyond this season is if we jist about stay up but see no improvement on the pitch and we get a bit lucky in the odd game to scrape through.

If what is been said and heard that Big Nige is well enough and keen to return but the only barrier is this useless goblin, then Top needs to pull his head out of his arse and look at who has done more for Leicester City's success, and who has his hands all over the absolute misery and failure. Anyone at Brum tomorrow, by all means get behind King and the players (providing they do the bare minimum and run around and try) but make it absolutely clear that this clowns position at this club is untenable and needs removing, Top could immediately take some of the heat off himself by making just 1 decision. Bloke has no redeeming features. Probably the best one since Preston 2 seasons back, everyone seemed bang up for it from the 1st whistle, obviously helped by the team actually trying and scoring early goals. Dunno if it was the demographic, it being a local derby or an actual battling performance but no reason why we can't have that atmosphere going forward. Agreed, last night truly exposed him with the ridiculous tactics, at various points in the first half the entire back 4 was well into their half, and with no defensive midfielders sitting in all it takes is someone to give the ball away (Fatawu) and suddenly we're cooked. To play a system where you have him next to the clown Faes, Hamza thinking he can play that inverted full back role and a kid, with 2 lightweights like Winks and Skipp against a team of quality on the counter attack is just moronic. Would need Fofana like pace to be able to recover once we lose the ball. Thought 2nd half, when we played deep, he and the defence actually looked relatively fine, maybe a blue print to how we can set up to be a bit better defensively.

Sheff U have started to play a bit better under Wilder and all 4 of their centre forwards are better than ours, including the one we sold them as at that point he was our 4th choice. This is how we should have set up from the start, Saints are quick on the counter, which our manager would know if he had a clue about anything going on. Sit deep, frustrate them, and see if we can nick something on the break, instead of playing with no defensive midfielders, centre halves on the half way line and full backs high up the pitch. Just terrible coaching, on occasion, setting a team up to be hard to beat has some value against an in form side. Set us up to be exposed so gets what he deserves if he gets the bullet.

Pretty sure I compared his record to Alex Neil, Mark Robins, Gary Rowett & Frank Lampard from his QPR stint but was getting a free pass because he wasn't British and was shouted down. 3 of those managers are now above us, and the other got a point against us by largely playing us off the park. Average Championship manager, which if that's what our ambitions are for the season then fine stick with, but that's all you're ever going to get from him. Talks a good game about promoting young players, 'tough' stance on the wantaways only to bring them all straight back and play almost every week. Agreed nothing will change whilst Top and Rudkin are at the wheel, but if this is the best we can do we're in for peak Craig Levein/Rob Kelly era of finishing between 12th and 19th in this league.
