undey Posted 15 April 2012 Posted 15 April 2012 I know this topic has been raised a few times before, but who would you judge in our current squad to be a Sven style player i.e more classy but not always reliable compared to a Nigel player i.e reliable but not as exciting to watch. Even if Sven signed them would be interesting to see if you think Nigel will keep them for next season e.g. Beckford! For me it would be.. Nigel Schmeichel (doesn't really count as probably the best keeper in the league) St.Ledger Morgan Wellens King Marshall Dyer Gally Nugent DANNS Hopper (think we will see a lot more of this lad next season!) Drinkwater Sven Peltier Konchesky (some may disagree but i don't think Nigel will keep him due to his ill discipline despite his quality) Mills (controversial) Beckford Bamba This isn't meant to be a "who do you think is going in the summer" thread, i just wanted to see who you decipher the different style of players in our team, one of the reasons i think we have not done as well as expected this year.
FrankieADZ Posted 15 April 2012 Posted 15 April 2012 schmeichel best keeper in the league? hahahahahhaa hes certainly in the top 5 imo. also I think Peltier is a Pearson type player...still learning at this level tho imo
Donut Posted 15 April 2012 Posted 15 April 2012 Schmeichel is a very good keeper, best in the league is pushing it though Id have to say Peltier has a lt to learn. Not of sufficient quality in my opinion

Happy Fox Posted 15 April 2012 Posted 15 April 2012 who is better than Kasper though? Federici, Robert Green, Kelvin Davies and Speroni
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 15 April 2012 Posted 15 April 2012 Konchesky has been one of our best players throughout this season, why would he get rid of him? Kasper isn't the best keeper but he is in the top 5
undey Posted 15 April 2012 Author Posted 15 April 2012 Federici, Robert Green, Kelvin Davies and Speroni I agree with Speroni and Federici, but Green is a bit dodgy and i wouldn't like Davies if we were moving into the prem
Happy Fox Posted 15 April 2012 Posted 15 April 2012 I agree with Speroni and Federici, but Green is a bit dodgy and i wouldn't like Davies if we were moving into the prem I am not suggesting we get any of these Keepers as Kasper is fine and has the potential to be of the best keepers in Europe imo, but the person in question asked who are better keepers atm the list I suggested are.

Bugg Posted 15 April 2012 Posted 15 April 2012 Robert Green is certainly not "shit". He's probably the best keeper in the League tbh.
wellyfox Posted 15 April 2012 Posted 15 April 2012 Another transfer type thread. Who will he keep or get rid off ? Did I miss the thread that said open as many on the same topic as you can ?
Happy Fox Posted 15 April 2012 Posted 15 April 2012 One also thing to point out the player in our team with the most assists is Nugent with 8 not even Wellend gets in the top 30, Drinkwater has 8 assists as well but I suspect a number of those were for Barnsley, we are crying out for creativity from the LW and the centre of the park. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/stats/assists/_/league/eng.2/english-league-championship?cc=5739#

Fox92 Posted 15 April 2012 Posted 15 April 2012 Federici, Robert Green, Kelvin Davies and Speroni I agree. Kasper always seems so hesitant to me as well, although he is a good shot stopper. Distribution could be better as well.
Haydos Posted 15 April 2012 Posted 15 April 2012 Rob Green makes one mistake at the WC and he's 'shit'....Brilliant
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 15 April 2012 Posted 15 April 2012 Federici, Robert Green, Kelvin Davies and Speroni please, they're old. Kasper has time to learn and develop and progress
Grey Fox Posted 15 April 2012 Posted 15 April 2012 please, they're old. Kasper has time to learn and develop and progress I agree. The GK position is one of the least of our worries. Just think back to last season, things could be so much worse! That said, we could perhaps do with some better back up.
