If you were owner how has NP impressed you?

If I were owner, I'd be baffled as to why Nigel was baffled

Wish i could get a job where I get paid a million quid a year just to be baffled and be fvcking useless.

said seenitall and flowwolf. seenitall and flowwolf said they don't think they're gullible, but if a journalist can describe, "We have needed to be good at home because our away form has not been what we would have liked," "We have put ourselves under a lot of pressure at home in terms of having to win home games." "We have to show that consistency away from home and there is no reason why we can't." "There is no real reason why you can't go and perform as well away," "We have had some good performances away from home but we haven't turned some of those into the results we want." as saying, "I'm baffled", then "I'm baffled" is definitely what was actually said.

You won't get a million a year job if you don't understand the use of quote marks.

Lucky for me my job does not involve quote marks , but if it did and my boss said" Flowy why aren't you using quote marks ? and I said Fvcked if I know I'm baffled , I think i would then be qualified to take over Nigel's position.

mmmmm let's see. Picked up team full of mercenary dead wood who didn't care for the club and hadn't a clue on the pitch and were flirting with free fall as oppose to picking up momentum. He stripped it all back, got rid of all the crap, improved morale no end, bought in some excellent young, hungry and talented signings, got the best out of the quality that was left and gave us at least a little bit of a charge into the top 10 with (albeit) fleeting aspirations of the playoffs.

He took a crap season, dusted it down and turned it round all without a pre season, a full run and without his own players.

I'm as disappointed as the next fan about this season and have had my own frustrations at Pearson's revolution but to even think he shouldn't be here next season is, quite frankly ****ing ludicrous and any real fan who thinks he shouldn't be here is, quite frankly a complete ignorant tit who has no business calling themselves a Leicester fan and should go an support the knee jerk reaction making pantomime clubs of Chelsea or Man city.

That said, in answer to to your question. Yes. Mightily.

Name a football player who isn't a mercenary and I'll show you a liar

Hadn't a clue - and didn't care - what twaddle, which players hadn't a clue?

2 points from 4th and 4 from automatic place is free fall - what the hell do you call 22 points off automatic if that is free fall?

None of that happened - morale has improved where, with Mills?SSL? Gally? Wellens? They certainly don't look like men with high morale and as for young hungry players - 2 to be precise (I assume even the most blinkered don't see Wes as young and hungry)

The charge to the Top 10 was last year from bottom of the table - hardly call stuttering from 13th equal on points with the 10th place club to actually being 10th 'a charge'

When was it turned around - jeez, we went precisely nowhere from nowhere - how is this so brilliant - I have to keep checking you're not a Reading fan on the wrong board here

As ever, the answer to this last highlighted section is Fook Off - it has to be rude because nobs like you who think because they swallow the OS and Babylon manifesto for LCFC makes them the only true supporters make me puke - It was fans protesting outside after matches against the Shipman era and Pleat that brought about the first significant changes in the club that ultimately led to O Neill and our best spell since the 70's - we had to fight sanctimonious little cocks then who towed the party line and no doubt will have to for many years to come - you sod off and support the club that Nige goes to when he is fired - probably someone like Walsall, you deserve them

... and the same type of fans who would have had O'Neill sacked just a few months into his time here if they'd had it their way, or been calling for Brian McDermott's head when they were struggling in the bottom half this season.

Exactly. There seems to be an awful lot of our fans who just don't or won't learn.

No.. MON had only 13 games when some idiots started booing and wanting him out. Nigel has had double that and has shown little promise. It's entirely different.

He has made our home record good, but hasn't been that impressive.

But look at what he has inherited, can't expect him to do wonders now can you, I am fully confident he will sort it out.

I'm a bit on the fence here. I can see both sides of the argument. I never wanted NP as manager, I felt his style was alien to Svens and therefore the players, so wouldn't get the best out of the current bunch. But now he's started, IMO, we have to give him a go. To keep changing would cost us millions more, in paying off contracts and rebuying players.

Now to answer my own questions at the start of the thread:

What has impressed me about NP so far, well not an awful lot. Pleased with the players he's brought in and defensively we look more solid. But that is at the expense of creativity and attacking flair. Unfortunately, most teams go up because they have better attacking options, rather than keeping numerous clean sheets. Time will tell.

Would I give him money to spend in the transfer market and to pay off contracts. No, get the best out of the players you've currently got Nigel. Players like Matt Mills although dreadfully overpaid, don't become bad players overnight. Is Wes Morgan, although hard working, a better player technically than MM at his best?

Drinkwater and Marshall are good players for the future but are they going to be able to do it, day in day out next season?

Has NP proved himself as a coach? Not until he gets the best out of all the squad, because this squad is good enough to go up. Carting out some of our expensive flops (or unmotivated better players) and replacing them with cheaper alternatives, might make us worse not better.

Is NP the manager who will get us ot off this and too PREMIERE?

And if is he the man then?

Look forward not backward what has happend has but.....

Can not seeing Nigel as a manager in premiere.....

Absolute arse this .....O Neill was booed (it was the team really) after a desperate performance against Sheff Utd when no spirit was shown and no skill on the pitch either. No one was calling for his head and he always milked the fact he was booed and to a certain extent never got over it - what did he do after 13 dismal games? Turned it around and not only won the next raft of games but went and got promoted - if Nige had shown 10% of MoN's spirit and determination and dare I say it passion, then I would fall to my knees and kiss his ring - but all he is is baffled because he can't win away - spot the difference and YOU learn

Oh I do sympathise with you. Is it the difficulty of stringing a sentence together, or the feeling that everyones talking about you, that makes you so traumatised?

I agree with you to a large extent, but I can't see any reason why the owners wouldn't allow Pearson to replace a few players. We haven't seen any evidence that most of the players brought in last summer are good enough for a promotion push under two different managers, and some performed even worse under the manager who signed them in the first place.

Maybe Matt Mills at his best is better than Morgan at his best, but does this matter, when overall, there hasn't been a lot of difference in performances between the two, and one has cost, and is still costing, a lot more money, and is apparently very high maintenance? That's not to mention Mills' disciplinary record.

Drinkwater and Marshall are good players for the future but are they going to be able to do it, day in day out next season?

I hear this a lot, but I haven't seen any evidence for it. You're not the first person to say this, many have. Do you mean that judging by the reputations of some of the individual players we have, they should be good enough? Because that's what I suspect people mean when they say this. I don't buy it. I don't think this squad is good enough to go up, for a number of reasons. It's ridiculously unbalanced. We have one true winger in Dyer, who I think has had a pretty good season by his standards, but still isn't quite the level we need. I rate Marshall highly, but he is a youngster, and I think his best position is central attacking midfield. We don't have a midfield enforcer, or a defensive midfielder at all, which I think we're badly in need of. Nugent and Beckford are both decent enough, but play too similarly. We need a striker who can hold the ball up. We also need a better right back than Peltier.

The squad is also lacking unity. I don't get the sense that there's enough harmony between them. I can only speculate as to why, but I'd have to hazard a guess that the gulf in wages between some of them must be a problem, and also that there have been far too many coming in and going out over the last year/year and a half. It's well known that Pearson values researching the personality and attitude of transfer targets highly, and I'm pretty sure that Sven didn't think this was very important at all, which could well be another reason.

Carting out some of our expensive flops (or unmotivated better players) and replacing them with cheaper alternatives, might make us worse not better.

You're right - that could make us worse, but I can't see any reason to believe that's likely. You only have to look at Pearson's last season here to see why I say that. Pearson, like MON, has the ability to build a team on a shoestring that is much more than the sum of its parts, and I think he should be given a chance and some backing by the owners to show that he can do it again.

I agree the squad is unbalanced but I get the feeling NP is pushing out players because they are the wrong type rather than the position they play. Yes, being a team is more important than individuals but life in the Prem is all about taking all these different personalities/ nationalities and moulding them into a unit. If he cant handle players in the Champ' he isn't suitable to do so in the Prem' IMO.

Well, it's yet to be seen how NP will handle the PL, and you may be right. However, teams like Norwich and Swansea have enjoyed great success this season in the PL without any of the big name players that some are worried Pearson can't work with. I know these types of teams are few and far between, but clearly, it can be done. As long as Pearson's in charge of building the side that takes us up, then I don't think it's a concern, anyway. I admit, I wouldn't be sure how we'd get on if NP had taken over and we were already in the top flight, but that's not the case.
