Sven bought some decent players in. Taylor ruined decent players. Out of all the managers we have had Taylor is by far the worst ever. That's out of the 40+ years I've been going to see them.

Ely fox Posted 22 April 2012 Posted 22 April 2012 It concerns me having watched the posh game and the home game against forest and the burnley game that the team are not motivated by pearson. He seems to always want to pick his favourites too, and keeps pickling becks when he doesnt perform ... why has he not played schlup more or hopper? just dont get that at all. He seems really stubborn to me and his substitutions dont seem to do much to change games at critical times. That said i dont want to sack him and i think his signings so far have been excellent and it encourages me who else he can bring in.

I make no apology for not wanting Sven at Leicester. He seems a decent bloke but he has always gone where the money is and has not achieved anything very much for a very long time. So, I was pleased to see Pearson return to the club. However, his inability to sign a good alternative striker in the Jan transfer window has been IMO, his undoing. I don't think Nige likes Beckford and he has continued to play him because he didn't get anyone else in to push for his shirt. Pearson has also make some bizarre selections. The choice of weedy Gally and King against Millwall being the most bizarre one. Finally, this nonsense of Kasper's long kick to a sometimes non existent strike force has been useless IMO and this surely must have been 'coached' on the training ground? On a positive note, I like Drinky and Ben because I reckon they are decent now and will only get better. I also like the fact that Pearson seems to not give a fig about the media. Finally, Mills needed a kick up the arse and Pearson has stamped his authority in this respect. Generally though, I thought we'd do much better under Nige. Although he has inherited a squad of very average players, in some ways, he has not been able to get the best out of them. And I fear that next season is going to be a tough one. I want Nige to stay but the sales he makes and the signings he gets in during the summer will either strengthen my resolve in the man or may make me think I was wrong and he actually isn't as good as I thought he was. We'll see..... I wouldnt say not signing a striker was his undoing, i think you have to look where the service for the striker's has come from (or lack of it) that was his undoing.

He had openly said he wanted to do business early in Jan but we didnt sign anyone till well into the 2nd half of the month. Sometimes its not the manager not wanting to buy players, its the fact he cant because clubs want sell or the money is too much so bit harsh to moan at NP for that.... But he let so many midfielders go, and only secured one replacement. The result was our squad was left as shallow as a reality TV show contestant. Once injuries and suspensions kicked in during a busy schedule, we were found wanting. He has to take his share of responsibility for that.
