cityfanlee23 Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 Its become a norm that we have a poor first half, and come out strong 2nd half, but more likely than not were so far out of the game its hard to come back! I can imagine pearsons half time team talks are rather "Warnock esque" and He most likely puts a fly in the ear of every player, Which leads me to the question, Is our match preperation correct? Obviously i wouldnt know without being a fly on the wall, but it just concerns me that we have had this for a long time now, and wonder if any changes should be made in the back room (Rather than slating everyone else) Yes i understand its the players who play the football, But if your not prepared for a fight, you will most likely get hit first! If its not the match preperation, then why do our players never seem "ready" or "prepared" for the opponents? Just a thought.... When we lost hamann etc in the background we seem to have lost all foundation to build on... I hope nigel can shake it up a little bit, someone with real passion for success.. someone who is not afraid to shout and scream when needed, but can get a team Buzzing for a game, i want to see players sprint on the to pitch with a massive burst! Not take a jog on and a small clap to the fans.. Maybe im wrong?

In 44 league games this season Leicester have been behind at HT a grand total of 8 times. There's an argument to be made that Leicester fail to take the initiative in matches as often as they should, but I don't think you can make the case that we put ourselves out of the running by HT too often.

Depends on what i class as "out of the running" doesnt it, I class it as, Playing like a BSP team and being so off the pace with the game, scraping through halves, having being battered, we then come out and our opposition are already 10 steps ahead! If we could just take our chances at the start we would be one of the best teams in the league by far! We have constantly played badly and not taken any momentum with us, we find ourselves on the back foot, but once again on the foxes talk forum instead of talking about the general thread, they take certain comments and find a way to slate it

Absolutely not. I have to say though it often seems that we play better in the 2nd half. I'd guess though that more often than not we've been drawing at half-time rather than winning and throwing it away. It's taking our chances that we've really suffered with, which has only added to the frustration of watching City recently.
davieG Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 I don't think it's case of playing better in the 2nd half it's more a case of upping the tempo in the last 10 minutes and people remembering that as the 2nd half performance.

You see i think its a point of having a better 1st half and going in 2-0 up Ideal world

Not take a jog on and a small clap to the fans.. Maybe im wrong? I've not seen much comment on this, but am interested in your reference to Hamann. As far as I can recall, our terrible run early last year, which was down mainly to the crumblng of the defence, coincided almost exactly with Chris Powell's departure and his replacement by Hamann. Incidentally, Hamann then left us to manage Stockport - he fared terriby there and only lasted a few months.
Out Foxed Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 From what i remember only southampton and west ham have done better than us in the first half, but we also score a lot of goals in the 45-60 sector. unfortunately we **** up after that.
Les-TA-Jon Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 Wait so you think our first half performances are influenced by days of training and preparation, but our second half performances are only influenced by a 15 minute chat? I'm not sure there's much evidence to show our first half performances being noticeably worse than our 2nd half ones. And I'm not sure how much influence half-time team talks have, particularly as the OP claims. I'm sure Pearson also talks to the players just before they go out for the start of the game too .
