The People's Hero Posted 20 April 2012 Share Posted 20 April 2012 Bit geeky. I'm working on a budget but really loving my Denon CEOL system with 2 old Tannoy M1s. What is everyone else running? I only have bookshelf speakers but went for the CEOL as I wanted something man enough to run some decent floorstanders when I inevitably get really lucky in some way and come in to some money. Lottery? Hello!
Saxondale Posted 20 April 2012 Share Posted 20 April 2012 Funnily enough I have a Denon M38 and Tannoy Mercury F1s. Bought them last year, love them.
The People's Hero Posted 20 April 2012 Author Share Posted 20 April 2012 Are the F1s good? My goal is to have Tannoy Mercury V4s next. The sound is actually really good off my ipod with this set up. Impressed.
Saxondale Posted 20 April 2012 Share Posted 20 April 2012 Superb. Couldn't be more please with them. I caved in to all the audio geek talk and spent a few quid on cables too. Annoyingly I didn't quite buy enough. Great sound for bookshelf sized speakers. I have them on brackets. V4s are floor-standing aren't they? And they match our furniture sort of, so my wife isn't quite as against the idea as she'd like to be. We can't afford them - and can't justify the expense, but its why I went for the slightly better amp.
Saxondale Posted 20 April 2012 Share Posted 20 April 2012 Just looked at the CEOL, it looks like a beauty. Mine is a similar thing but without the integrated dock (that's an available accessory). Does have a USB in on the front for my iPod. As for the expense, at least it should last a few years!

The actual dock is good since its a clean connection Thing is, where I'm likely to eventually put it, my ipod wont fit in the top. I didn't think about this before. Obviously. That was also my first "hifi rack".
Saxondale Posted 27 April 2012 Share Posted 27 April 2012 I made an adjustable hi-fi separates rack for my A Level Design major project. It was pretty naff, predictably. NB. This was 11 years ago, frighteningly.
