Stood on their home terrace when they played Pauli. Pauli fans were very good but so were the Alemannia lot, although one of the far right hooligan groups had threatened to plant a bomb in the Pauli end. Absolutely nuts! Aachen also had a veyr catchy song to the tune of Heart of Glass by Blondie. We should nick it.

Don't suppose that song is in the vid I linked?

I couldn't give a fvck what you do or don't find amusing...and going by the bulk of your miserable and retarded posts it doesn't seem to be a lot. If mentioning your children is a problem to you then maybe you shouldn't have introduced them to the forum, but then logic is a particular weak point of yours.

It's not ironic that a club which exists for its fans sells them merchandise which they demand - it's just another indication that you struggle with concepts deeper than what you are having for tea with your children.

Oh fvck, I've mentioned them twice now - I'm guessing you are not the slightest bit amused now. Still, children always bring me joy so maybe they'll help you relax.

Now go do a two-piece jigsaw with the kids, they'll help you when you inevitably get stuck.

I'm staying out the argument but can't lie, that's the most I've laughed at a post in absolutely ages. lol lol lol lol lol lol

I'm stuck! Please help.....

I've no idea what I have done to piss you off, but I must say you are one grumpy sour mouthed so and so!

I likewise couldn't give a **** whether you find my choice of debate interesting or not, so get over it.

You are still missing my point over St Pauli, but I think you are too busy trying to wind me up / piss me off / be generally rude to take notice.

Now please do continue to insult me and my family for the amusement of others, they seem to be enjoying it.

Well what is your point about St. Pauli? That they sell merchandise to the fans?

If they exist to serve the fans then they're going to give the fans what they want, no? So if the fans want the merchandise, are they not serving the fans by giving them what they want?

On the subject of Alemannia Aachen, this is their ground.

Pretty much ours in yellow but crucially with a STANDING area at the end that'd be our Kop.

Oh lordy.

I think the point he'a trying to make is that St Pauli claim to be for their fans, and their fans only and not become a global brand, rather than pandering to a global market like the likes of Man Utd, Barcelona, or Cardiff City. In doing so they have gain so much respect and admiration, they have become a global brand.

Becoming a global brand came more though from world-wide admiration for their dedication to their fans (as well as the culture of their fans), not as if they actually tried to become a global brand. They are run for their fans, rather than to be a brand like Man Utd, Real Madrid etc.

Let this become the official blue and white friendship thread.

As of now.

I want a pre-season at the Ruhrstadion.

Also;

Alle Tore des VfL Bochum in der Saison 2011/12 - 2. Bundesliga. Leider lief die Saison nicht so erfolgreich wie erhofft.

Run that through Google Translate and you'll see another reason why VfL Bochum and Leicester City are kindred spirits.

I know they haven't tried to become a global brand but I think his point was it's quite ironic that a club who's unique point is they don't want to become a global brand has become global brand because of the admiration gained from not wanting to become a global brand. You're answer to him was "They sell merchandise to their fans?" but they don't they sell ****loads to people who aren't fans, which is what a lot of people admire them for not trying to do.

Went on a stag weekend years ago to Hamburg and although we didnt go to the football.Hamburg were playing St Pauli, around town that night was like a war zone. Not knowing the history then between the clubs we wondered what the hell we had walked into.Got to say spending the evening in the Reeperbahn,we had a right laugh with the St Pauli fans ending up in drinking games together.

Check my link ;)

Aachen are a club I'm starting to look out for, I was in absolute shock when I saw their ground. Literally couldn't believe it.

And so the very fans that admire a non commercial Footballing 'Utopia' have created a huge global Brand.

Just like the Che Guevara T Shirts it's become a fashion that a lot of people who even wear the stuff don't fully understand.

I really do hope that the money involved is put to good use and doesn't line the pockets of a few.

It's different though, St Pauli have gained popularity for the right reasons and the kind of people who look out for them will continue to respect them in the proper way. I don't think it's against St Pauli to be a popular club but I think no matter what happens, even if they got to the Champions League final, they'd still put their fans first, and that's why I like them.

There should be more clubs like that, if not every.

Problem is it won't happen over here without intervention because any club who takes a financial hit will inevitably get weaker, and the clubs are too scared to do it.

The whole mindset is totally wrong.

lol

It's already started on a low level as Voll Blau has said, fans from Bochum coming over here and vice versa.

A major link-up would be brilliant though, not unique either. Swansea have had a tie-up with ADO Den Haag for a number of years and even got players from there (Bodde and Dorus de Vries) so who knows? Might even get a few quality German players out of it as well as superb pre-season friendlies and Deutsch trips.
