St Ledgers injury.

His aerial battle against Darius Henderson (which resulted in a Millwall goal) always gets highlighted on here. Thing is, Darius Henderson would beat most defenders in the air.

St Ledger has a decent leap although he isn't dominating in the air. He is technical and can play the ball out of defence if/when required. St Ledger was capable enough during his time at Preston, which is when Preston were a good side in this divison and St Ledger was a solid centre half at this level. Also, he was good enough to attract a call up from Republic of Ireland but they sadly played three of the better teams in Europe, although St Ledger did manage to score.

I think he is one of Sven's better signings and I think he can be good for us. He certainly isn't a bad player, I rate him anyway.

Good post...

Wow. The Birch just told the #LCFC Bootroom on 104.9 FM that St. Ledger is 4 weeks ahead of schedule in his return from injury.

The Birch also said that ZW was 3-4 weeks away from playing and longer from being available to play at 1st level!

And to think all the brain cells on here were in denial saying it was just good old NP getting him up to match fitness, When all along he was injured.

DOH!

Well he's not injured is he otherwise he wouldn't be training at all.

He finished last season injured and is about 3/4 weeks behind the rest of the squad!

I'm pretty sure NP realised this when he signed him, and would have given him an appropriate wage considering the risk.

Although he is not a young player, he still has a 3-4 year career ahead of him, so by being careful now and assuring he is back to perfect health before playing he may be able to play out his career without 'prone' injuries reoccurring

NP is really not stupid, and the return of Whitbread and St.Ledger will give the squad a huge boost when fit. Until then we are most likely to win games by approaching them with an attitude of 'out scoring' the opposition rather than the past few years of a 'concede less than the opposition' mentality.

You're criticism of a manager in charge of leicester is just foolish.

Last year we knew we had made some good, but also some very poor signings. Kasper, Nuge, danns, st ledger, and konch were some of the success stories from last season, along with Pearson signings of Drinkwater, morgan and marshall.

We outlined the need for a replacement for howard - NP did this and signed Futacs.

Many criticised Peltier's defensive ability - so we brought in de laet.

We needed a defensive midfielder and someone to play instead of king - James's ability of reading the game gives us this.

We wanted wingers, to improve upon dyer and gallagher - He bought marshall last year and knockaert this year, with Vardy being able to play out wide if required.

We then got rid of dead wood, howard, pantsil, and sold mills, IMO a very good move considering we recovered the majority of the fee we paid and the wages spent on him alone were ridiculous.

Im gutted we sold sol, but we all remember him for his flair rather than his outstanding defending ability, which shouldnt be the case for a defender.

And from pre-season and the cup he appears to be playing a 4-2-4 rather than 4-4-2, NP has never been a defensive manager, he has not been a manager long enough to be labelled like this. He himself admitted last season that he is still learning, and that is reflected in his new style of the "4-4-2". He is a manager which plays to the strengths of the players he has, he did this last season and played many of the players who were here before because he knew their strengths. But now he knows what is required and bought the players in.

So let me ask you this...Without the signings of Messi and Ronaldo, what more could he have done this pre-season??

I think it's much more likely that SSL's injury was misdiagnosed than SSL being Wolverine, but still, this can only be good news.
