Never in my life will i see them as a rival

Always enjoyed Peterborough as a trip. Not too far away, Terraces, Lots of City fans always turn up.

Why do they appear to dislike us???? Do they ? really?? I always thought Cambridge was where they directed their hatred.

Peterborough police don't seem to like us. I remember one year (I think it was in the 80's) City fans being banned from all pubs in the town (Consequently lots of quaint country village pubs outside Peterborough were over run with City fans, great thinking by the Old Bill.

Then there was also the time we took loads and we must have had over half the ground. I stood on the terrace that ran down the side of the pitch, so it must have been quite a while ago. I distinctly remember a load of City fans in fancy dress going on the pitch and one had a go at the police while dressed as an Arab!!!

Maybe it's the fact we tend to invade their town in large numbers.????

They have let in 152 goals out of their last 92 league games. One fo those seasons being in League 1.

Hardly great defensively is it?

Yet they scored 173 goals in the process, scoring more goals than your opponents wins games, they perhaps won't score as many this season, and then again, they perhaps wont concede as many, have they strengthened their defence?

been a posh fan since 82 ish, never seen leicester as rivals, reading through this thread you got some things right, namely posh fans being totally shit, a more boring bunch youd be hard pressed to find, alot of greasy haired old t wats who stink of wee and a not so inconsiderable sprinkling of window licking types complete with tracksuit from carboot sale and designer egg stain,,,,,

whats more, dont expect much in the way of noise from posh on saturday unless posh are winning by 3 or 4, normally we have 40 young skins who stand at the back who sing like f uck, the rest of the middle aged bores will spend the entire game sat on their hands whining about a drum, or sucking a werthers original, the highlight of their day when they get home and write a blog will be crumbs from a sausage roll falling onto the road atlas.

This is the second summer running this site has had a thread about little old posh and how you don't care about us. I think your trying to convince yourselves.

Nope, I started the thread to see what they thought because you hate us so much.

I don't like Posh but that's because I'm in area where there are quite a few Posh fans. We're not rivals though. You can't be rivals with a team you've played 16 times.

Ah so you live in an area with Posh fans and they have a bit of banter with you or maybe just don't like you very much and that's where you get this perception from. I did wonder as its really not considered a rivalry at our end and I really doubt it is at your end.

All the best anyways.

Don't understand this creating rivalry stuff. To the vast majority of Leicester and Posh fans this is just another game only extra factor is it is a season opeer so we are all glad football is back. Yes we will dislike each other for 90 minutes on Saturday but nothing else. Nice near away day on a terrace and large Leicester numbers is a nice trip each year but we are as much rivals with Posh as we are with Yeovil.

Much more important is will all the Posh fans posting on here be attending the Safe Standing Road Show at the Counting House pre match, come and sign the petition to help save your tarraces.

No, they always refer to Leicester as 'the scum', sing hateful Leicester chants and one even has a car sticker with a Posh fan weeing on a Leicester shirt...

I don't class them as our rivals however for how close Peterborough is to Leicester they've hardly ever brought numbers here.

I think they do ok. They're not a massive club, but I always seem to recall them bringing a thousand, or two, here. I remember them filling the away end during the League One season (4-0). The following year, was a night match, think there was a thousand at least (1-1) and last season they were ok (1-1). Don't think their away support is that bad when they play us.

Yeah i do actually

Hopefully, you will be correct!

THO i mind a game round about 93 ish when we played at filbert street and posh won 2-0 i think, a couple of leicester lads told me on my way across a park towards the ground to " get out of lester or youre dead" after the game the same two approached me in the same park near the station and said " i thought we told you to get out of lester,,,, so i smashed the one doing the talking square in the coupon and the other one backed off dragging his blooded mate, ,,, good times.

some leicester dentist was hopefully thankful for the work,,,, there was a recesiion back then also, and i like to think i did my bit for the economy.

That's quite an achievement, you should be very proud of yourself.
