FuriousFox46 Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Basically, I'm writing a blog exploring Posh's apparent dislike for us and need some LCFC viewpoints to include too so if any one wants to reply to this thread, I'll use some in my blog Thanks guys
Bert Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Tinpot. Small time. Deluded supporters, a team that no-one really takes much notice of.
Harry - LCFC Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 I like their terrace But otherwise I don't think much of them, just another team in the league that we'll play at some point.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Place to go and stand once a year. Also, tinpot.
Mark_w Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Tinpot. Tinpot. Small time. Deluded supporters, a team that no-one really takes much notice of. Tinpot. Also, tinpot. Sounds exactly like how a Derby or Forest fan would describe us on their forum, but you know, we don't care about Peterborough or anything.
Kitchandro Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Sounds exactly like how a Derby or Forest fan would describe us on their forum, but you know, we don't care about Peterborough or anything. At the end of the day we've played them, what, about 10-12 times? That is why it is not a rivalry. We have played each other that many times because they are a small club who have rarely ventured into the top 2 divisions. These are facts.
kingfox Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Boring. Boring fans, boring team, boring ground, boring place. So boring.
ScouseFox Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 What does "tinpot" mean? It's just almost every club we've ever played has been described as tinpot by someone on here. What are the criteria to be described as tinpot?
Kitchandro Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Is this wise?! No Ferguson. If it was Wise it definitely would be a rivalry.

What are the criteria to be described as tinpot? Basically you have to match all the same criteria as us without being called Leicester.

What are the criteria to be described as tinpot? Small club that think they're bigger than they actually are, not known for having the best set of fans.

sdb Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 They took 4 points off us last season. Hopefully we can take the piss on Sunday. Until then i'm gonna wait!
fleckneymike Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 I think posters who are declined into the vale of years will be able to offer you a slightly more informed viewpoint as to any acrimony between supporters. We certainly don't help ourselves by playing awfully when we go there (09/10 aside).
Corky Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Third or fourth tier club who've done very well in the past few years, that we unfortunately lose a number of points to, presumably from not treating the game seriously enough/them putting in a good performance. Fry, Ferguson and MacAnthony- can't stand any of them. Nice terrace that will sadly disappear.
Kitchandro Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 What does "tinpot" mean? It's just almost every club we've ever played has been described as tinpot by someone on here. What are the criteria to be described as tinpot? Generally I get the feeling it could mean anything to do with: Old/small ground, new/big ground (especially one that isn't filled regularly), neantherthal fans. modern 'prawn sandwich' fans, no trophies, few trophies, lots of trophies but a long time ago, lots of trophies but not the right ones, lots of trophies but only because they have money now from bloody foreigners, crap pitch, no undersoil heating, too much undersoil heating, not enough hog roast, goal music, a currently underperforming team, booing and the poznan.
fleckneymike Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 It means second rate. The pejorative nature of the word lies in the use of tin.
