Kitchandro Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 And complain every time they say it. But when they say it it's actually pretty retarded, there are just as many points to suggest we are a bigger cub than them (such as the most important one, fanbase) You can't really do the same with Peterborough. I actually don't really think Peterborough are embarrassing and tinpot, but you can't argue against the fact they are a much smaller club than us. If anything, people are suggesting they are tinpot because they are trying to make a rivalry with a bigger club (us), when we've played each other very few times in our history. There probably is some recent history between us in terms of incidents, just as with Portsmouth. But the only time it's been a big game was in league 1, as they were the closest thing we had to a derby and we were both challenging for promotion. As I said, I don't consider a club tinpot just because it's small.
1964FOX Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 That's why I 'd "Chunk in a minute, he's gonna chunk in a minute" That was funny.
fleckneymike Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 This is like two bald men fighting over a comb.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Is it just luck that the line between being tinpot and not being tinpot falls just in between us and Peterborough? I don't think Leicester are tinpot, I don't think any club is tinpot, especially the unfashionable smaller clubs whose fans still follow them through thick and thin. They aren't tinpot and neither are we, but if we think it's ok to label smaller clubs with that then we have no right to complain when a Leeds United do the same to us. Fair point Mark surely though any true football fan should not be ridiculed for supporting whoever they support the majority of loyal England fans come from socalled lower league tinpot clubs whos loyalty I would never call into question.
flowwolf Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 We are surly missing a cliche here " Micky Mouse " anyone ?

I'm not saying that they should, that's partly why I think it's unfair to tag smaller clubs than us as being tinpot.

Simmo86 Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Good terrace. Not alot else to say really. Like to beat them because my mate is a ST holder there.
Voll Blau Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 It's a decent day for a drink up plus they have a terrace. Shame their fans don't make the most of it.
Guest Col city fan Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 I'm sure we had a similar thread about this time last season relating to Coventry? I'll say now what I said then... I don't give a flying toss what Peterborough fans think of Leicester City. All I'm bothered about is beating them on Saturday and starting the season off well. All this who is the bigger and better club stuff has been going on forever and will never be resolved. We think we are better, the other clubs don't agree. What I don't want is to go out on Saturday and not win. Anything else don't bother me. Let them think what they want to.
Out Foxed Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 The terrace and barge pub makes it a good day out. other than that..no opinion really.
Mark_w Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 What I would say about Posh is I like the way they appear to be run and from what I've heard and on the few occasions I've seen them play they play a style of football I think I would enjoy. Although I can't say I follow that closely it would appear they give non-league players and young players let go by bigger clubs another chance and I think that's to be admired. The only real thing I dislike about Posh is the attitude of some of their fans towards us if they do indeed dislike us, but after reading a few comments on here I can't really say I blame them. Still, roll on Saturday and hopefully we'll beat them by two or three this time.

anotherharboroughfox Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Surprised you remember the terrace to be honest. That's why I 'd "Chunk in a minute, he's gonna chunk in a minute" If I remember correctly, a certain Serbian was sick on the terrace, not me
1964FOX Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 If I remember correctly, a certain Serbian was sick on the terrace, not me Yes but we always knew he was a lightweight
Father Ted Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Yes but we always knew he was a lightweight Dan? No such thing as a Serbian lightweight
ADK Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 I quite like Peterborough, they played quite attractive football last year despite not being a big club and have a decent ground. I don't feel we have a rivalry with them any more than we have a rivalry with Hinckly.
MC Prussian Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Great old-school terrace, tight stadium that is quite a walk from the train station (easily accessible, though). Small club with little to no history who've surprisingly managed to survive in the Championship for a couple of years now (despite a few relegations in between), without having really been brilliant at all. And of course, our bogey team.
Fox92 Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 No doubt they'll attack. Hopefully will be an open game.
Guest Col city fan Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 No doubt they'll attack. Hopefully will be an open game. You can pretty much bank on that. I don't think they know how to defend, although maybe that's changed? 5-4 City
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 First football game I ever went to - Peterborough v York, "we" won 2-1. It was my dad's friend taking us for a day out, still remember it vividly even though I was only about 4 - was a good day! These days I don't dislike the team or fans any more than your average team. Quite nice that the place is still very old school, however that's probably for a lack of money. Just find it quite bizarre that they seem to think we're their rivals, and they are just a over-achieving Sunday league team in our eyes. Crap, but capable of some surprising results.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Great place to go if you need a passport in a hurry
