What is the rationale behind not allowing people to change their name until they reach 6000 posts?

I thought you just had to ask the mods if you really wanted to, you have the privilege of doing it yourself after 6000

Try deed poll, they will change your name to what ever you want, and you don't have to post 6000 times.

If you have a genuine reason like you've moved or a player has moved on and they are in your name we'll do it. The reason we stopped it was because I ended up having to change about 5 to 10 a day it just got ridiculous and frankly tiring/boring. My life is boring enough without having that. to do.
