I knew Man City only got to the top recently, but I thought Man Utd and Chelsea were near the top since the 70s (behind Liverpool who won everything). Chelsea were nothing before Abramovic, they had'nt won the league since the 50's till he turned up. United have had their rocky times throughout the years as well, and during Fergies reign for that matter, Xmas 1989 three years into his reign they were just outside the relegation zone and the majority of the United support wanted him gone.
