Boxing Day

So we will be finally playing away from home on Boxing Day for the first time since 2006 - with the very same opposition as back then too, namely Hull! A repeat of that 1.2 win with the then shite Rob Kelly side we had would obviously be a nice fillip and would be nice for Pearson too for obvious reasons! I suppose it had to be Hull, Ipswich or Leeds we'd be playing on Boxing Day, it's all rather like a set script!! Are the league fixtures rigged in some way?!

The fixtures on Boxing Day are devised so you play someone fairly local I think it's within 2 hours of each other

Yes, I was really meaning in the Championship as I still like to forget we were ever in League One!! - but I get your point and didn't make that very clear admittedly. Ironic that it was Leeds once again in 2008 though!

I didn't know about that Boxng Day rule of thumb. Crumbs, Ipswich must be scraping it a bit then re the estimated two hours time zone and distance limit - especially if the A14 isn't clear! Hull and Leeds are easier to make within two hours though I guess.

I go to Uni in Hull and every year I have been here we've played Hull when I'm back home for Christmas. Last year I was working in Reading so I missed the Hull game again. 0/4. Bad luck

You can request to be at home on Boxing Day, but obviously everyone wants that fixture so we can't always get it.
