And where did you get that from?.

There was going to be a mass protest but the owners basicaly threatened to **** off with there money and leave us in a financial mess

In face of losing all that dosh you shut up and let them do what they wanted.

What happened was the idea was met with strong opposition from the cardiff fans so the malaysians said they wouldn't change anything and that was the last we heard of it then the following week I wake up wednesday morning and get a text from my mate saying "they've gone through with it" so it was done behind closed doors and nobody knew that they were pursuing the idea because they had said they would not do it

Exactly - like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted. Sounds to me like they want to have their cake and eat it - they want the money from the owners, but they want their heritage too. Well the owners made it quite clear it was one or the other and it's obvious that the money was more important to the Cardiff fans than the identity of their club. Now, months down the line with all the money safely in the bank, they decide they want the shirt back? Well I'm afraid it doesn't work like that - you sold your souls, you'll have to live with it.

If the OP had come on here over the summer with his petition, before the decision was made, I imagine he would have received widespread support - but where was he then?

I didn't see you doing the rounds with any petitions during the summer though?

Then you called off a protest against the shirt change before the first game of the season because the club told you not to do it! Jokers. If it was me, and my club were trying to change its' identity, I wouldn't let a ban stop me from protesting:

This was all over Sky Sports News at the time, and that's not what happened.

They made it clear that they wanted to change the shirt logo and colours, and would invest on the back of it.

Then all over SSN were Cardiff fans saying the likes of 'We need the money so we cant really argue' and that was that.

I will have having a little giggle at the expense of your club on Saturday :)

The media/news storys are one thing

If you ask the media a question about ccfc and you ask a fan you will get to very different answers.

Look very grateful for all that signed :)

If you don't want to sign it then that's up to you but at the end of the day we're all football fans..

Fair play. Good luck to you - it's obvious that not all Cardiff fans were for this, it sets a dangerous precedent though. I would be absolutely, 100% against this if our owners tried to enforce it. The club will be there long after they're gone and even if it means hardship, I'd rather my club retained its' soul.

I hope you manage to get it changed back, but I think it's too little, too late to be honest - but at least you can say you tried.

Leicester would be the best team in the Welsh Premier League - it wouldn't mean they deserve to be there! :ph34r:

This. Got nothing against Cardiff per se. They're a good team, good players, fans, stadium etc. I don't hate them or anything. What annoys me is the attention they give themselves and that they get from the media - for being a 'big club' - when they're just the biggest fish in a very small pond. To keep the metaphor going - if you're a big fish in a small pond then tough, you can't just move ponds.

I'm not meaning to be jingoistic or xenophobic when I say this but it is the ENGLISH football league. Not the British football league. Imagine if LA galaxy 'moved' to the PL - I think we'd all tell them where to go.

Same all goes for Swansea too btw.

Exactly, if the boot was on the other foot, do you think the Welsh leagues or the Scottish leagues would welcome English teams with open arms? Would they ****!

This is the problem, it's 2012, you can't just whine and get your way anymore. You need to be prepared to say, 'hang on a minute, I'm not just going to hand over my hard earned cash so you can do what you like with my club'. If you're still paying the extortionate prices why would they give a crap what you think?

You need to play hardball.

Fair enough but do you think the malaysian give a **** whether I don't go when they get to the prem there will be a plastic fan to fill my place who pays ****ing £1.10 for a mars bar and a red shirt.

Look there's a slim chance of this being a success but at least we have tried eh?
