Have they recently changed their name? Become Ltd only recently perhaps?

I have little sympathy for them as a company. Took their eye off the ball big time in terms of the golf course no longer being the main draw to the place. It’s merely a bit on the side that accompanies the driving range, which, as you say, is always busy. That’s why they shut the 10th hole when the driving range net broke rather than close the driving range 😂

Ha. Finding your tee shot on that hole, and the 9th, is a pigging nightmare with those range balls.

No idea what's going on there tbh. Played as a visitor from time to time as I'm not far away but it's gone really downhill. Spending money on a gym, mini golf course, loads of local advertising, but the bunkers were full of weeds and the tee boxes were completely bare. Was a shambles considering they're now asking for £40 in the day (used to rock up after 5 for the £17 round only).

Edit. And the pro moved to Kirby and the shop was absolutely gutted when I last went too.

I used to be a member there 10 years ago now  and it was always one step forward two back when I was there. Seems nothing has changed.

Shame really as it's a decent enough layout with some good holes but just never really seems to land the right owners who consistently focus on the course. Its always target the food, beverage and driving range as that's where the profit seems to be.

One of the pros I know well, they basically forced out and they lost so much business along with him.

They constantly shoot themselves in the foot. The only reason I left all those years ago was because at the time they never had an intermediate membership, so I went from paying £150 a year as a junior, to turning 18 and paying £1200 full subs. So I saved myself £1000 by joining another club which was an obvious decision of course.

Rory should have just skipped his trip here and headed straight for Oakmont lol

Can't remember the last time he got a snowman on a par 4. He's clearly in a weird headspace since he won the Masters.

Must be strange for him having now achieved his lifetime goal. There's nothing left for him to achieve in the game so will be interesting to see what motivates him going forward.

He's moving back to the UK soon, got a young kid, playing more worldwide later this year instead of the US (India, Australia etc.) and got lots of business interests.

Genuinely wouldn't surprise me if he ends up retiring soon and doing something else with his life.

Bit melodramatic this Izzy. He'll be back contending soon I'm sure. There's still plenty for him to achieve. Becoming the most successful male European golfer ever for a start (Harry Vardon won 7 majors). And I'm sure he'd love to win an Olympic gold medal too (to complete the ultimate Grand Slam).

I truly hope he is contending again soon, he's been my favorite golfer of the last 15 years and I'm a huge fan.

I just sense something is off. He's skipping media requests, didn't ring Jack Nicklaus to apologize for missing Memorial, and he's got the arse over his banned driver.

Can't see him contending at Oakmont while he's spraying it all over the gaff but maybe Portrush will inspire him. Think he'll definitely raise his game for Bethpage and will want to win the RC on US soil though.

After that, who knows. He might be motivated to beat Monty's order of merit wins or Faldo/Vardon's major's or win Olympic gold, but the OG grand slam is the one that really mattered to him and he's completed it.

Maybe easier to just sit in his boxer shorts in his new built mansion near Wentworth and enjoy time with his family while spending his $300m fortune.

Credit to Rory, as he's one of the few big name players that always plays in the Canadian Open, as most skip it to prepare for the US version.

This unfortunately, was the worst he's ever played here. He finished 5 strokes behind a 55 year old Mike Weir for christ sakes!

It's going to definitely affect the weekend crowd turnout unfortunately, even with a lot of homegrown talent in the running.

I'm one of many that thought that Masters win would really help him going forward and it's so far, been the opposite.

Interesting point about Rory's MC affecting the crowd turnout, I'll bet the tournament organizers are well pissed off.

Tbf to Rory he's a big supporter of playing national opens around the world, it's something he's always prioritized (unlike his US counterparts who cba to travel).

I wouldn't mind seeing Taylor win it again so we get to see a repeat of this. One of all time great moments lol

Didn't the owner at Forest Hill nearly close it down and sell up for housing?

I remember it being distinctly shit after that didn't go through.

King Power tried to purchase it,  but difficulties with a covenent lead them to purchase Park Hill instead.  Pretty sure the covenent would also prevent housing there as well,  though cannot remember what it covered.

I’ve been sent two pictures of Forest Hill taken last week. It’s in absolutely appalling state, but I can’t upload the photos on here as the files are too big 🙄
