ScoutMan Posted 28 February 2013 Posted 28 February 2013 I know a few certainties, but can any one think of any players bought, then sold over the years for a profit over £500.000. Neil Lennon over £4m, not sure exact. Mark Draper £2m profit. Matt Fryatt around £750k. David Connolly £2.5m. Gary McAllister must be over 500k.
fleckneymike Posted 28 February 2013 Posted 28 February 2013 Iain Hume to Barnsley for about 500k profit.
sham Posted 28 February 2013 Posted 28 February 2013 Transfer profit is a loose term in football. Sure, the sell on fee received may have been more than originally paid, but you must take in to account signing on fees, agent fees, bonuses, salary for the duration of their stay. Sometimes a nominal profit, for example £500k, is actually very deceiving.
Bausor Posted 28 February 2013 Posted 28 February 2013 Emile heskey I know he came though but 11 millions
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 28 February 2013 Posted 28 February 2013 Wayne Clarke was bought for £350,000 and sold pretty quickly for about £500,000. For some reason still can't believe we ever had him. Probably didn't see much of him play
Bayfox Posted 28 February 2013 Posted 28 February 2013 Lennon was signed for 750k and sold for 5.75 million 5 million profit and relegation loomed.
Captain... Posted 28 February 2013 Posted 28 February 2013 Not sure what we bought him for but I'm pretty sure we made money on Hobbs, although nowhere near enough.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 1 March 2013 Posted 1 March 2013 Iwan Roberts - Bought for 300k and sold for 1.3m. A cool Million profit and he couldn't even make the team that beat Palace at Wembley. Cracking player though and still has one of the best songs sung by Leicester fans. "OOOOOOHHHHHH Iwan is a Welsman"
