jonthefox Posted 26 March 2013 Posted 26 March 2013 Maybe we should have the two arthurs . But then again, i doubt anything will happen.
jonthefox Posted 26 March 2013 Posted 26 March 2013 I think we should put 2 up out each stand. But two people who are similar. For example Shilton and Banks.. That photo of the older generation passing onto the younger generation. Both Englands number 1. Heskey and Lineker... For saving the football club. Izzet and Walsh... Two great players who gave 150% every game. Not decided who the other two could be A conservative estimate i reckon £800/ £1 million.never going to happen.
J.Lisemore Posted 26 March 2013 Posted 26 March 2013 No I'm not. So has Rakriaksorn but I don't get how he deserves a statue when I'm sure people gave money at the same time too? Well for starters, Rakriaskson has been at the club 5 minutes. A Heskey statue? probably not... but the amount of stick the guy gets from people(albeit mainly non-Leicester fans who never seen his best years) is ridiculous.

FuriousFox46 Posted 26 March 2013 Author Posted 26 March 2013 Not being funny but MON for a statue, seriously? I'd have Gary. Must be the most popular choice? Yes. See the results.
FuriousFox46 Posted 26 March 2013 Author Posted 26 March 2013 Surprised at that given all the Banks/ Shilton talk lately. I was surprised too. Shilton actually polled less votes than Keith Weller and Alan Birchenall too
Guest Bilo Posted 26 March 2013 Posted 26 March 2013 This thread pretty much pisses on the argument we have no history. We're basically choosing between England's most capped ever player, England's only World Cup winning goalkeeper, England's second highest goalscorer as well as never being booked or sent off, the Football League's highest ever goalscorer or our record goalscorer. Not bad really.
jonthefox Posted 26 March 2013 Posted 26 March 2013 Maybe a statues asking too much. We could have a walk of fame like the tigers have.
davieG Posted 27 March 2013 Posted 27 March 2013 I've suggested this before what we need is a series of stone facial masks set in the outside wall all around the stadium that way we could have many and cover most peoples wishes. We could then have an annual vote to add one every year. This would have the added benefit of making the stsnium more appealing, provide meeting points and the cost would be minimal in comparison.

Do you have any idea how much one of these would cost?.
indierich06 Posted 27 March 2013 Posted 27 March 2013 Something like the Steve Bloomer one at Derby would be pretty sweet:
flowwolf Posted 27 March 2013 Posted 27 March 2013 Making yourself look a little bit silly here. Local lad Heskey has given a lot to this football club over the years. As said above...commanded a fee of £11 million back in 2000...that alone is pretty impressive. Yes except his career wasn't so impressive after that was it ?
indierich06 Posted 27 March 2013 Posted 27 March 2013 Yes except his career wasn't so impressive after that was it ? I thought he did fairly well at Liverpool and his England record wasn't bad during that time too.
flowwolf Posted 27 March 2013 Posted 27 March 2013 I thought he did fairly well at Liverpool and his England record wasn't bad during that time too. Agreed but hardly in Linekers status. or in terms of what a player did for his club Walshies.
indierich06 Posted 27 March 2013 Posted 27 March 2013 Agreed but hardly in Linekers status. or in terms of what a player did for his club Walshies. True. If he'd stayed here for longer, then maybe he could be classed as a real club legend - Liverpool got his best eyars IMO and then it went swiftly downhill after that. As it stands, he was a very good player for us, and he did help the club out in its time of need too... not worthy of legendary status though, especially when you compare him to others IMO.

Of course he will always have a special place in our hearts because he was at the very start of great times for this club under MON getting the equaliser against Boro at Wembley being just one of them, and being a local lad to boot. Come to think of it can't we have more than one statue ?
molineuxphil Posted 27 March 2013 Posted 27 March 2013 Derek Dougan 65 to 67 ,was only at Filbert Street two seasons ,but the guy had more charisma in his little finger than the whole of the current squad put togeather.

Isopen Posted 27 March 2013 Posted 27 March 2013 Even I'd chip in to have that put up! Would you ? ..... and how many others ? 10 years ago fans rallied to save the club and raised £100,000 via the Foxes Trust A statue would cost more than that This topic has cropped up a number of times in recent years, no idea who anyone thinks will pay for it

J.Lisemore Posted 27 March 2013 Posted 27 March 2013 Yes except his career wasn't so impressive after that was it ? Nah he only went and played 62 times for England.

J.Lisemore Posted 27 March 2013 Posted 27 March 2013 So you've just agreed with me then In terms of the Heskey statue yes, the facial masks would be a much better idea. Probably wouldn't happen due to finances, but would be nice.
flowwolf Posted 27 March 2013 Posted 27 March 2013 Nah he only went and played 62 times for England. Yes and wasn't that good either.
