Hitesh Posted 30 July 2005 Posted 30 July 2005 Craig Levien on todays match:Speaking after the game, Levein said: "I was relatively happy with most aspects of the game today. It was a little bit different from the matches we had been playing, certainly Milan and Celtic, and this was more like what we will face week to week in the Championship. "It was hard. We had to defend well and we had to be energetic. But we played some reasonable stuff and we scored some good goals. So overall I have got to be fairly pleased with the way that things went today. "De Vries had a couple of opportunities in the first half and to score today will do his confidence a lot of good. He also scored twice out in Norway as well and showed good composure. I was pleased with our attacking play. "I would say that three of our defenders are comfortable at this moment in time. Peter Gilbert is new to the club and we haven't really had a lot of time to work with him. The other three know what they are doing, but Peter is just a little bit away from that at this moment in time. But he will get there. He's only a young boy and the reason that we signed him is because he has got potential. He did reasonably well today. "We will now work hard this week. We'll continue to work on set pieces - obviously we are not going to give those away in pre-season matches. We will do a little bit more work on those than we have done up until present. We also need to work on a few things defensively. "Hopefully by the time the Sheffield United game comes around we will also have Stephen Hughes and David Connolly back from injury which would obviously help as well." Source Well at least he knows that they need to work on stuff defensivly. Bring on Sheff Utd...

Molson Canadian Posted 30 July 2005 Posted 30 July 2005 Fulltime 3-1Leicester Goal Scorers De Vries , Wilcox 2 Oxford United - Danny Morgan 146963
Hazza Posted 30 July 2005 Posted 30 July 2005 Seemed like a decent performance, and good to get a win in the final game before the season starts.
lookwhaticando Posted 30 July 2005 Posted 30 July 2005 Wilcox got 2 - a sign that he's actually worth more than people on these boards seem to think?
Durnerz Posted 30 July 2005 Posted 30 July 2005 Wilcox got 2 - a sign that he's actually worth more than people on these boards seem to think? 147025 I didn't think he did himself much harm against Inter Milan, lets not forget this is a guy who's been out time and again and he's done well to get himself back fit so i'm pleased for Jason. Lets just hope he can maintain his fitness and sharpness around the box as it would seem on todays evidence.
PompeyFox Posted 30 July 2005 Posted 30 July 2005 Just back from game, average 1st half. 2nd half tempo was upped, both teams trying. De vries done well for his goal, as it got to him the ball stopped and he had to turn back and get it out from under his feet, only to put on his right foot and chip the goalie. Missed wilcox 1st goal but was meant to be good from open play. His 2nd was also good from open play. All the players had a good game, impressed with nils geeranband in defence(savage lookalike). Rab looked comfertable in goal, shouting to his defence all the time. Sylla, well his 2nd half performance was worth man of the match, his neat passing and understanding off putting the ball into spaces that players are running into. Wilcox had his best game i have seen him in a leicester shirt, hope it continues. Still dont like it when we have all the players back for the corners( we conceded then), says it all. I thought o'grady done well when he came on, tommy wright well not so sure about. Cant wait for saturday now........... WE ARE BLUE WE ARE WHITE WE ARE FU###NG DYNAMITE LEICESTER CITYYYY LEICESTER CITYYYYYYYY LEICESTER LEICESTER
MC Prussian Posted 30 July 2005 Posted 30 July 2005 It's not looking bad, eh? I'm looking forward to next Saturday as well. A NEW SEASON!!! FINALLY!!!
