Oxford Match thread

Recommended Posts

Craig Levein has named a strong squad for City's final friendly fixture of the pres-season campaign against Oxford United on Saturday (3pm).

And the good news is that new signing Peter Gilbert is included in the travelling party after the young defender was forced to limp out of Wednesday night's defeat at Rushden with a thigh problem.

Rab Douglas (pictured) also returns to the squad following a foot problem, but Stephen Hughes (ankle) and David Connolly (groin) are not risked.

Foxes fans not making the trip to the Kassam Stadium will be able to follow the game exclusively live on Leicester City World.

Our coverage of the fixture starts at 2:55pm, with commentary coming from BBC Radio Leicester's very own John Sinclair.

Please note: BBC Radio Leicester will be broadcasting bulletins on the day during their live broadcast of the Twenty20 finals.

CITY SQUAD: Douglas, Maybury, McCarthy, Williams, Sylla, Dublin, de Vries, Tiatto, Gilbert, Henderson, Wilcox, Johansson, Gudjonsson, Stearman, Wright, Sheehan, Gerrbrand, O'Grady, Muggleton

I know this isnt much to do with the match, but people would probably moan at me if i started a new thread.

But who is the best out of O'Grady + Porter + Dodds + Graham + Muggleton?

Rank them in order, i think it is like this

1, Porter

2, Muggleton

3, O'Grady

4, Dodds

5, Graham

What does everyone else think?

Ricky Muggleton was involved in the first team last pre-season as well (well, he played against Kettering), he's a striker with quite a good record in the academy games.

On FM2005, Porter is the best out of the lot then i would say Graham and Dodds.

However, that is a game and probably doesnt mean a great deal. I have only seen O'Grady and Porter so i cant really comment, but from what i have read, Porter seams more promising.

Both Muggleton and Dodds went to my college, i don't think Dodds could play for the school team but Muggleton always seemed to be on the scoresheet. I probably should have watched a few in hindsight, although it's nowhere near the standard that they will hopefully reach.

I was in the same junior side as Dodds aswell for about 4 years and, without making a big deal out of it because it was at a low level, he really was class then.

Not seen enough of all of them to comment who's better though.

Anything happened?

Craig David ;) had a chance. Wilcox had a slight knock but is back on. Banbury had a chance for U's but Rab saved i think. We have had a few corners. Nothing much though.
