Harry - LCFC Posted 8 June 2013 Posted 8 June 2013 I want to be playing Watford as soon as possible, I can't imagine they'll start the season well with the upheaval they're going to have to go through. What happens if they can't get players in for whatever reason? What if the FL play hardball and say no to Udinese players? I know it's unlikely but they'll be in a mess if that happens.
Super_horns Posted 8 June 2013 Posted 8 June 2013 Like you say to have no new players would seem unlikely even if they are loan players from this country... Of course we will have to see but it was more that the BBC decided to waste time writing such a pointless article when you consider there is time to get players in. if it was 2 days before the season started and all the players we want rejected contracts then fair enough... I am not certain but there are probably a few clubs who have smallish squads now without new players or ones signing new contracts. Its June the 8th - we've probably had less people contracted before and I think when Mackay went to Cardiff they had about 7. So long as we aren't totally relying on signing everyone from Udinese or Granada then we should be ok squad wise - if we are and made to look silly then its out fault and they'll know about it.
Guest shearfox Posted 8 June 2013 Posted 8 June 2013 Well it might be funny but you are paying the BBC to get the basics wrong... Least they've corrected it and anyway its far too early to worry about squad depth. Agreed, I couldn't help but laugh but I'm sure you guys will be fine, just hoping we play you early.
LCFC FOX Posted 8 June 2013 Posted 8 June 2013 I hope we play them early too, like Derby this season thrashed them 5-1
Super_horns Posted 8 June 2013 Posted 8 June 2013 Agreed, I couldn't help but laugh but I'm sure you guys will be fine, just hoping we play you early. That is true - we might be a bit under-prepared particularly as the season starts very early.
smudger63 Posted 8 June 2013 Posted 8 June 2013 Because there'd be no security for Udinese or Granda as the players could go anywhere after their one-year contract was up at Watford. Fair enough, that makes sense.I was thinking of it from their owners point of view, rather than the players and their agents, but i think you are right and make a good point.
