Watford Chant

Technically we cheated to gain a penalty and also does anyone not remember the season under Sousa/Sven? I clocked it we had 12 loan players in at different times. Stop being so bitter.

Indeed we did. While ususally that would leave a bad taste in my mouth it doesn't because it was against Watford, a club who IMO have cheated on a far larger scale than anyone else this season and thus could have no complaints if they were sent out via an incorrect penalty.

Your point about our loan players in the 10/11 season. Firstly, my argument is not about the amount of loan players in the squad but the amount of loan players in the first team as that's when they actually matter. The rules state that a club is not permitted to use more than five domestic loans on a given match day but they are allowed to use any number of foreign loans. Now clearly we have a huge failing in the rules there, no doubt about it really. Watford's behaviour is technically allowed under the current laws but that doesn't make it just IMO, it should not be allowed to happen but unfortunately it has.

I see where you're coming from and you've made two good points but it's very easy for one to be bitter when there exists someone out there who isn't playing fair.

Only used 5 at a time though

Thanks for your explanation, but we can't exactly brand off Watford has cheaters if the rules clearly slack on this particular subject. Rather than rule Watford has cheaters it should be the rules that are criticized because what they're doing I may not agree with but the rules don't state that it isn't allowed to be done and if I was in the position that the Watford chairmen is in I would probably use the same tactic if truth be told.

I agree with you there. The word 'cheat' isn't really correct but I like using it because it's a strong word. It also asserts my view that Watford's behaviour should be called cheating.

But I think you're quite right in saying that the rules themselves are the major fault here. I'm rather annoyed that this has been allowed to happen, but I suppose if something isn't against the rules then it's hard to criticise them too much. They're only trying to bring success to the club.

It's just that it should be against the rules and therefore what they're doing is wrong. That probably sums up what I'm trying to say.

Ouch, still hurts eh? More to come next season, don't you worry your little heads about that. ;)

Well, I'm glad you made the most of it and progressed to the next level.

Yeah, like you're in the position to take the p**s out of us - you didn't even go up, and now you're losing most of your squad.

How about that most of them were on loan and their loans are expiring? Is that good enough evidence?

So you're not losing the likes of Abdi, Vydra, Ekstrand, Chalobah, Cassetti etc then?

I know you've signed Forestieri (not sure about any others), but I've counted about 13 loan players that will be leaving (unless you've signed them all).

I wonder if Watford fans have seen this thread and reported it back to their 'Do they mean us' thread like we do as soon as another teams fans start slagging us off.

Our new 'rivalry' or 'hatred' is now pathetic, getting cringeworthy tbh.

I'd love to see how some people on here would react if another clubs fans were making so much fuss and talking about us in such way.

I'm not sticking up for or supporting the Watford fans here, but my advice to some fans is take a step back, have a look, have a word with yourselves and get of your high horses, stop being so petty, pathetic and cringeworthy.

I've tried to hold back so long, but c'mon, listen to yourselves, compare it to some things you've slagged other teams off for and compare it to the 'Do they mean us' thread, I think you will see certain similarities, all i'm saying is practice what you preach.

They probably do, it just doesn't bother me enough to go to other teams' forums and sign up to tell them to "get over it", "move on", "our loans love the club, you are going bust soon".

This will die down soon enough Matt, it is a bit childish but they started it

Ignoring the frankly pathetic animosity that some on here are trying to drum up (do you really care that much about Watford? It would be like us worrying about, err, Barnsley?)  - but why do you assume all of the players will be going back? Do you think our Italian owners will say 'okay fellas, we gave it a season and it didn't work; let's pack up and forget about the premiership'? It's a project. Even if some of the players do go back, there will be replacements of equal or better quality. Most want to stay - and Pozzo has even said Vydra will be staying unless a daft offer comes in.

If the loan rules are changed (big if - why would the club chairmen vote for a rule that would cut off a way of building a squad economically?), they'll come in permanently. Don't worry about the so called 'embargo' - all it means is that the FL checks everything is kosher. And if we settle the disputed £900k debt even that hurdle disappears.

So for the hard of thinking on here - you'll need to come up with some different chants (if you can really be arsed that is)

We're simply helping the Watford fans learn one of life's most important lessons.

Pride comes before a fall.

Ey? Why wouldn't the chairmen vote for it? We're not talking about an easily accessible way of building a squad, we're talking about a way that relies on multiple ownership and so puts them at a massive disadvantage to youse..
