Watford Chant

Actually it is not wrong, Watford played well within the rules and will do so again ;)

http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/watfordfc/watfordfcnews/10471306._/

Watford's behaviour was wrong I'm afraid. Get sick of hearing this "oh it was within the rules" shit as if the laws of football represent some kind of moral perfection, so frustrating when people are unwilling to question the great monument of fairness that is the rules.

Thankfully it's just been proved how downright awful these precious rules were last season with the change that's been made to regulations regarding loans. Evidently the co-ownership of clubs is even more damaging and yet this something that the Pozzos are being allowed to do.

PS - if you don't think Watford's behaviour was wrong last season why do you think there has been a change in legislation in order to stop it?

Not wrong, rather it exposed a flaw in the system. The fact that you think it is 'wrong behaviour' is your opinion, regardless of how sick you are of hearing otherwise. Like have said before, Watford were not 'on their honour' to not utilise an easement in the rules because someone out there might see it as unfair.

I know what you mean, it isn't the club's responsibility as such but as you probably know it is certainly my feeling that it shouldn't be allowed to happen. So any occasion when it does happen will leave me disappointed as I'll always have it in my mind that the club going down that path ought not to be.

At times I think I'm wrong to blame Watford, but then it is them benefiting after all from something I really don't like so I can't help but get rather worked up about it.

If anything, the closing of the loan "loophole" will only benefit Watford.

Leicester fans =

- 1 third knowledgeable football folk (respect due)

- 1 third honest piss takers (fair enough - we need to be able to take it)

- 1 third bitter & twisted knobs (but hey - we have some of them too)

so 66% decent then -

It's still a drastically better percentage than the Watford fans who have descended on here in recent weeks. Basically super_horns is a decent poster and the rest have been cvnts, and nothing short of that.

The aim of it was to stop what was perceived to be improper behavior though. Clearly, I think we all realise that having seven, eight, nine loan players in the match day squad wasn't good so they've stopped it from happening. I do congratulate them on this although I don't think it's enough.

I'm not quite sure how this will benefit Watford, they don't seem to be planning on using the loan system again anyway and are going to 'buy' players from Udinese.

It stops other people doing the same on a smaller scale. I was fully expecting a few clubs to vote to keep it open, a few decent foreign loans to clubs such as Leicester, Forest, Bolton in the season just gone could have seen the season pan out so much differently. No transfer fee, maybe a percentage of the wages paid for them, just what clubs need in these debt ridden times. Instead it was a unanimous decision. Which means even Watford voted to close it, wonder why they'd do that? They realise that other clubs would be potentially be looking to get some quality foreigners over as well (not on the same scale, but 2,3 maybe even 4 foreign loans from various clubs) and that obviously wouldn't help the cause in getting to the premier league. Now they still get to move people across, but without the risk of anyone else doing the same, clever, very clever.

I don't think they did did they? I heard 71 to 1 on the vote, so watford alone voted to keep it open.

I wonder if Watford fans have seen this thread and reported it back to their 'Do they mean us' thread like we do as soon as another teams fans start slagging us off.

Our new 'rivalry' or 'hatred' is now pathetic, getting cringeworthy tbh.

I'd love to see how some people on here would react if another clubs fans were making so much fuss and talking about us in such way.

I'm not sticking up for or supporting the Watford fans here, but my advice to some fans is take a step back, have a look, have a word with yourselves and get of your high horses, stop being so petty, pathetic and cringeworthy.

I've tried to hold back so long, but c'mon, listen to yourselves, compare it to some things you've slagged other teams off for and compare it to the 'Do they mean us' thread, I think you will see certain similarities, all i'm saying is practice what you preach.

So we're not allowed to slag refs off, we're not allowed to take the piss out of other teams.

What next?

Media reports suggests we did but who knows...anyway its done now and we will naturally have to go along with the rules as our CEO said.

As for Vydra being worth 15 million - well the Pozzos would take that!

Sure he scored 20 goals for us and did well but he had a iffy spell and is still very young plus had injuries so would be a risk for a Premier league club (why not try out a young British player.. ;)

I cannot speak for others but personally thought it was unlikely Vydra would stay given all the talk his agent has made.

Its not up to him or agent though....as much as player power does seem to be the norm!

Deeney is still around and Forestieri has signed so up front isn't too bad ATM.

Midfield would be the main problem if Abdi for example didn't sign (again international player so might be 50/50) as of course Chalobah has gone back to Chelsea.

Hopefully in defence Nosworthy and young Tommie Hoban can recover from long term injuries to boost that area.

Look forward to meeting you guys - by the sounds of it there will be a good atmosphere if nothing else!

(and probably a decent game as usual..)

I might be wrong but does this mean you COULD have 5 overseas and 5 domestic loan players?

Am I not allowed to do that either? lol

I think Watford are in a good position no dead wood, Zola gets to build his own squad and still gets 5 loans in. Think they will be pushing for autos

Just a thought, but given that the Watford owners also own Udinese and Granada, what`s to stop Watford from "buying" 10 Udinese players, and a couple of Granada players on free transfers, giving them a one year contract, and then "selling" them back to Udinese and Granada on free transfers, at the end of next season. :dunno:

Because there'd be no security for Udinese or Granda as the players could go anywhere after their one-year contract was up at Watford.

I doubt the agents would be happy with them cancelling or not having a three of four year contract renewed for this.

What if they get injured? What if they have a poor season?

Vydra will be the first of many to look elsewhere in my humble opinion.

BBC report only 12 left in squad after loans finished and 7 released.  Is actually 10 as 2 in the current squad are crocked

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22826958

Its 15 and they've got Vydra up there but not Murray or Forestieri....

This is before any of the 5/6 out of contracted players offered new deals sign though and before anyone is brought in.

The time to worry about the squad depth is August 31st...not June 8th.

lol

Well it might be funny but you are paying the BBC to get the basics wrong...

Least they've corrected it and anyway its far too early to worry about squad depth.
