If the words were "no more mosques" then it is still a worrying, if not at all surprising incident. Not really. The police see a bunch of people causing a stir in what's already an emotionally intense situation, calmly take an inflammatory sign off the woman to try and keep s bit of harmony and she doesn't bother complaining. The non-story has been entirely fabricated so people like you can be outraged, scared, worried or whatever other stupid responses. It's a complete non issue.

So why the inconsistency when it comes to Choudarys mob? How can the police justify taking away people's property for stiring up hatred against Muslim's when they are happy to sit and watch Islamic preachers call for the deaths of British citizens? Surely one rule must apply to both sides???

But instead of using Choudary as an excuse to let the EDL be cvnts in public, I'd rather take the view that neither should be tolerated. Ignorant hate is ignorant hate, whoever's spouting it. **** them all off as far as I'm concerned.

However it's absolutely imperative that organisations such as the Police force make sure they treat everybody equal, you leave yourself open to all sorts of accusations if they don't.

Could it be something to do with the bad publicity Islam has been receiving? A good time to bring in tougher terrorism laws while the government has the public's support.

That's generally going to happen after things like this on both sides. Has anyone also noticed how attacks on War Memorials and Mosques have also gone up this week? It's good to see you have been keeping up with the news though.

As for seeing little of Muslims being outraged, you couldn't turn the television on for ten minutes last week without seeing every Muslim body known to man condemning the attacks. Then again these comments are nothing to be surprised about from a man who thought this thread was about a building society until the weekend.
