Guest Posted 27 June 2013 Posted 27 June 2013 I'm interested in starting up a new football team. Ideally, this would be within the North Leicestershire Saturday League although I anticipate spending a year getting players in and having friendlies before we are ready to join the league (plus deadline has passed). I'm mid 30s now and the old legs re finding it more and more hard to keep up though my playing days aren't yet behind me. I do have a level 1 coaching badge and would like to take further badges. I already train a childrens football team. Anybody interested as a player or as a coach? I quite like the idea of just spending a year playing matches against full teams either way!
The Year Of The Fox Posted 28 June 2013 Posted 28 June 2013 I don't 'do' Saturdays as there's only one place I want to be in the afternoon. I don't even know if I'll sign up for anyone on a Sunday yet. Now 'my' team has folded and the lads just gone separate ways, Im not interested. Could put you in touch with some Saturday teams to play against though

Leicesterpool Posted 28 June 2013 Posted 28 June 2013 Yeah i would be interested but playing on saturday's (this season) would be a problem as i've got a season ticket. So what r u planning on calling this team?

????? Posted 28 June 2013 Posted 28 June 2013 I'm interested, but I'm in the same boat as everyone else being an ST holder. Would completely depend on KO times
Leicesterpool Posted 28 June 2013 Posted 28 June 2013 My suggestion is mate, like you said just use this season for the odd friendly here and there but play them on Sunday's. It'll give u a good idea in who you want in your team next year, plus i suggest writing a letter/email to Nuneaton Town as there youth team as recently returned and i thing they are also just using this season for the odd friendly.
Charnwood Norris Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 I'd be interested in joining. Looking for a team to join in Loughborough. I am mid 30's as well and have not played for 12 years.
Soar Fox Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 Looking to take a year out of playing Saturday and Sunday football. So I'd be willing to play the odd game here and there.
The Doctor Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 If i weren't oop north during season then I would, but £30 train fare to get back wouldn't work, not to mention finding time for training.
MPH Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 I'd be interested in joining. Looking for a team to join in Loughborough. I am mid 30's as well and have not played for 12 years. They might be looking for a goalie.....
Rincewind Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 Do you want some fans to boo the most expensive player? 'Wat a waste o' money'

Rincewind Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 You could have City players' names on your shirts. I will pity whoever has wellens though.
