RowZ Posted 31 July 2013 Posted 31 July 2013 I know there might not be a way around financial fair play and I don't know the in's and out's of the ffp rules. But do you think there is a way around the ffp for example if our owners sponsored a stand for x amount of money would that work or would that be breaking the rules? Why not get a Manager in who can make purses from the Sow's ears we've got? Get promotion through blood, sweat, tears, testosterone (and a touch of tactical nouse) and FFP won't matter.
Foxes Blue Blood Posted 31 July 2013 Posted 31 July 2013 The "rewards" come from the fines that are levied on any clubs who gain promotion while breaking FFP, as the money from those fines is then shared out between all the clubs who met the FFP criteria that season I understand that but what happens to the fines imposed on Championship sides who don't get promoted, is that also divided between the Championship FFP compliant Clubs?

I'm not sure what fines there are if you dont go up. I know you end up with a transfer embargo until you can comply with that years FFP,
Lionator Posted 31 July 2013 Posted 31 July 2013 F***** fans seem to think they've found a loophole as their chairman's company is now their main sponsor, how does that work?
Jon the Hat Posted 31 July 2013 Posted 31 July 2013 F***** fans seem to think they've found a loophole as their chairman's company is now their main sponsor, how does that work? It doesn't.
5waller5 Posted 31 July 2013 Posted 31 July 2013 F***** fans seem to think they've found a loophole as their chairman's company is now their main sponsor, how does that work? Not exactly a loophole - just a convenient way of selling sponsorship for the top price that can be justified as the market rate. If it goes over the market rate then the rest won't count as income. But a difficult one to argue so there will be some flexibility on what represents fair market value.
Guest shearfox Posted 31 July 2013 Posted 31 July 2013 I thinking more like managers totally disregarding the FFP rules and in agreement with their owners invest more money than they should to achieve promotion. After all what's a fine compared to the £120 million or whatever it is prize money for promotion. You may not just get fined, a transfer embargo can be placed on the club.

True and the more the wealthier teams try to exploit sponsorship income the more it will put the market value up too hopefully. It will be very harsh if the FA expect us to abide by the same sponsorship values as Yeovil for example in the Championship when we are a much bigger club with a potential market in Thailand that the owners are trying to expand.
Swiss_tony Posted 31 July 2013 Posted 31 July 2013 You may not just get fined, a transfer embargo can be placed on the club. the xfer embargo is if you stay in the champ. if you get promoted there's no embargo because the EPL have different FFP rules.
