theboxman1986 Posted 29 July 2013 Posted 29 July 2013 I know there might not be a way around financial fair play and I don't know the in's and out's of the ffp rules. But do you think there is a way around the ffp for example if our owners sponsored a stand for x amount of money would that work or would that be breaking the rules?

But do you think there is a way around the ffp for example if our owners sponsored a stand for x amount of money would that work or would that be breaking the rules? Probably, sponsorship. I just don't think the Thais can be bothered throwing money at the club again, especially while the wage bill is so high, they aren't a bottomless pit.
Danizen Posted 29 July 2013 Posted 29 July 2013 If they wanted to cancel a contract, surely it wouldn't be difficult to arrange for a third party to make a payment to the player in return for him agreeing to cancel his contract. Maybe this happened with Wellens.

I just don't think the Thais can be bothered throwing money at the club again, especially while the wage bill is so high, they aren't a bottomless pit. Nothing to do with being bothered. It's just a much less appealing proposition when they don't get to tag their 8% on.
dog_4 Posted 29 July 2013 Posted 29 July 2013 We don't need to go round breaking rules. But i don't get why we couldn't get a couple of loans ie Micheal Keane and Udinaj on loan from Man utd. Two simple cheap additions like this could work for us

Two simple cheap additions like this could work for us as for loans probably waiting till the premier 25 man squads are announced so we can get some castoffs. but also might not be able to pay much in the way of wages. who knows.
theboxman1986 Posted 29 July 2013 Author Posted 29 July 2013 If that's the case that they can't be bothered to pump money into the club then why be here. I can't help but think that if they wanted to they could get us out of this sell to buy mess we ae in.
Jace Posted 29 July 2013 Posted 29 July 2013 How about manufacturing and selling more Filbert Fox masks in Thai duty free airports?
SmithyFox12 Posted 29 July 2013 Posted 29 July 2013 Anyone else sick of reading/hearing about this FFP.

whoareyaaa Posted 29 July 2013 Posted 29 July 2013 Anyone else sick of reading/hearing about this FFP. Yes when does the transfer window shut again?
Jaspa Posted 29 July 2013 Posted 29 July 2013 Yes when does the transfer window shut again? September first, like usual I would've thought

TrentFox Posted 29 July 2013 Posted 29 July 2013 Yes when does the transfer window shut again? It already has on FoxesTalk !
Jace Posted 29 July 2013 Posted 29 July 2013 Loans aren't simply about paying a players wages, there is also often a fee paid to the club for the loan of that player. And sometimes even arrangements like a player must be given a minimum 30 minutes each match game time
Danno Posted 29 July 2013 Posted 29 July 2013 They should just sell Danns and St Ledger to Army United in Thailand, and then the Thai club release them and pay them off.
5waller5 Posted 29 July 2013 Posted 29 July 2013 I've said it before ..... But I find it very difficult to believe we've sold as many season tickets as we say we have..... Selling a few thousand to your Thai mates that aren't likely to turn up must have at least crossed eur mind!!!
Grewks Posted 29 July 2013 Posted 29 July 2013 For me the whole purpose of introducing FFP is just ridiculous, as it will have no affect whatsoever. It was an attempt to ensure clubs only pay out what they recieve, but the problem is, it is the richer clubs which will benefit the most. Take Manchester United for example, they are the most recognized footballing brand in the world, and as a result they gain more money through sponsorship than any other club. Secondly, the more financially superior clubs are far more likely to have players which are on financially rewarding contracts, and have some value. Using the same example, lets say Manchester United sell Rooney for £35 million, and he is on £200,000 a week. Manchester United will then have £35 million upon which then can spend, as well as a spare £200,000 a week for player salaries. Furthermore, FFP is meant to ensure clubs to not overspend and plummet into debt. However, for most businesses what is their main source of income? Investments. If a club cannot make an investment, in cannot obtain levels of revenue which they will require to continue running. Clubs in our division cannot afford to operate on income from just tv revenue, sponsorship and payments from the FA. There was definetely a requirement for some form of fair play system to ensure financial stability within the game, but FFP will not result in this happening. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have shown within the German game how clubs can be profitable, and so have tottenham and arsenal within england. This is mainly through investment of players, if clubs can no longer invest...it appears than even the most financially aware clubs may no longer obtain any operating profit.
Kitchandro Posted 29 July 2013 Posted 29 July 2013 If we think of a good one are we going to email Top? Desperate times.
Kinowe Soorie Posted 30 July 2013 Posted 30 July 2013 Maybe it seems too simple... become a charity? Would this work? I don't know? Top and Co giving a charitable donation of a few million...?
Mack Posted 30 July 2013 Posted 30 July 2013 We don't need to go round breaking rules. But i don't get why we couldn't get a couple of loans ie Micheal Keane and Udinaj on loan from Man utd. Two simple cheap additions like this could work for us We don't need to spend the season improving other teams kids while they make their mistakes in our shirt, we have enough of our own young and learning players. We need a couple of experienced players to help our own kids.
indierich06 Posted 30 July 2013 Posted 30 July 2013 Maybe it seems too simple... become a charity? Would this work? I don't know? Top and Co giving a charitable donation of a few million...? Would never happen in a million years and we'd get loads of stick for it. Charity's supposed to help the needy, not prop up the lifestyle of overpaid footballers. Plus, like others have said, the Thais don't want to give us any money, they want to loan it to us at a massive rate of interest, so any scenario where they give us money without any chance of getting it back is a complete non-starter.
