FoxesAreBlue Posted 9 October 2013 Posted 9 October 2013 Hope she doesn't walk past my mums house, her dog would go mental over all that bone and meat.
Smudge Posted 9 October 2013 Posted 9 October 2013 Well done mate, if it saves just one person it was worth our revulsion of an image but thanks for the spoiler Webbo!
Zingari Posted 9 October 2013 Posted 9 October 2013 In terms of pain; I would imagine that by the time her arm had gotten to that stage, that all nerves and pain receptors would be shredded. Maybe so , but there's something about this that doesn't quite ring true to me . It's quite an old story that just seemed to go around and I remember it from at least a couple of years ago and it just faded away, as though it was a myth , and nothing more was said again until recently . It was being discussed here in back in 2011 (with exactly the same photos, odd no ?) http://www.onlinegooner.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=30898 from a report here http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/krokodil-the-drug-that-eats-junkies-2300787.html I can't understand how it hasn't been in the mainstream media in the intervening period.

It's been in loads of drug programs since then. The problem hasn't really spread a lot from Russia and a few former eastern bloc countries though. Probably due to the fact that we don't have such a bad wider drugs problem and the ingredients aren't as readily available. It's certainly not some kind of hoax.

Snopes (which i know isnt 100% but theyve usually been pretty close) give it the all clear. http://www.snopes.com/medical/drugs/krokodil.asp I want to know why we havent harnessed this for good?
Jordan Posted 10 October 2013 Posted 10 October 2013 In some parts of the U.S. (including areas of the Northeast), heroin is making a comeback. Many people became addicted to opiates in the form of painkillers (e.g. Vicodin), but recently, it has become harder for drug users to score meds due to more restrictions/safety controls put in place to limit access to the drugs, and because the prices of those drugs started rising while the economy took a nose dive. Meanwhile, heroin remained cheap, and became the "logical" substitute for drug addicts that either couldn't get or couldn't afford painkillers. I've heard of several arrests for heroin sales/possession in my area recently, something that was almost unheard of just two or three years ago. I would guess that something similar is happening in the UK. I cannot see a drug like "krokodil" becoming any more than a fringe cocktail made by the most desperate of drug addicts as long as heroin is cheap and available. Then again, I'm sure that almost none of the vicodin/OxyContin etc. users in the West--especially those in some well-to-do areas--saw themselves shooting up smack within just a year or two.

I'm not really dismissing the whole thing as a hoax, it's just that that photo of the girl's arm doesn't look quite right somehow . But I'm sure there is some disgusting stuff out there .

Surely Meth is going to make a huge comeback after BB?
I am Rod Hull Posted 10 October 2013 Posted 10 October 2013 Another reason to legalise drugs. I think its a great reason not to.
MooseBreath Posted 10 October 2013 Posted 10 October 2013 That arm photo has to be fake. Looks far too 'clean'. I'm sure you can't just walk around normally with that level of exposed flesh. What is keeping blood from pouring out with every heartbeat?
ADK Posted 10 October 2013 Posted 10 October 2013 If she was in Iran she'd probably get stoned for showing that much flesh.
MPH Posted 10 October 2013 Posted 10 October 2013 That arm photo has to be fake. Looks far too 'clean'. I'm sure you can't just walk around normally with that level of exposed flesh. What is keeping blood from pouring out with every heartbeat? the veins are burned close. Im sure there is a more technical explanation. Some of my patients who come in have softball size holes at the sacrum area. Some right to the spine. Not a drop of blood..
The God Emperor Posted 10 October 2013 Posted 10 October 2013 I think its a great reason not to. how so? these highly dangerous home made drugs exist and are used so widely because of drug prohibition

davieG Posted 11 October 2013 Author Posted 11 October 2013 Re the arm photo that wasn't part of the original report I just took that off Google images after searching krokodil, sorry if that has misrepresented the report. Also sorry if the pictures upset anyone and thanks to Webbo for 'spoiling' them.
Jordan Posted 12 October 2013 Posted 12 October 2013 Surely Meth is going to make a huge comeback after BB?Meth use apparently declined in the US from 2002-2008, only to increase again in 2009. BB premiered in 2008, but everybody seems to have gotten into that show in Season 2.Hmm...
