RumbleFox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 If you could see any former/retired city player play for the club one more time, who would it be?? Do you have any special memories etc... of them?? Have you ever met them?? I don't know why, but im in the mood for reminising. Personally, i would love to see matty elliott put on the city shirt one more time, i have to love the guy, i will always remember his header in the worthington cup semi vs villa, it was immense. Has to be my favourite city player i've seen play in my lifetime. Hello there I agree with you, I absolutely loved Elliott. I met him when I was about 18 and he was huge!! I think once you get to an age where you are older than most of the players it's hard to idolise them in quite the same way. I loved Matty and Taggart. What a defence!! Imagine a defensive three of Elliott, Taggart and Walsh now! Happy days. Come on you Foxes!!! X
pleatout Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Steve Guppy. Best crosser of the ball we have ever had. Nah, that was Mark Venus. Shame he couldn't play left back to save his life. Laurie Cunningham, real shame he had 10 players around him that were so far behind him in terms of skill, he was made to look rubbish.

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 9 December 2013 Posted 9 December 2013 Banks will ALWAYS be my number one, but there were a few sensational outfield players. Len Glover, Keith Weller, Davie Gibson, and Derek Dougan, were great favourites of mine. I guess I've been lucky to have 53 years of memories to reflect on.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 9 December 2013 Posted 9 December 2013 Gordon Banks; keeper when I started watching City, World Cup winner, and I once shook "The Hand" that made "That Save". Legend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNLam4RAbg8 That was a save I will never forget, from my biggest sporting hero of all time
Socks Posted 9 December 2013 Posted 9 December 2013 Always Linker.... I was 9 at the 1983 battering of Wolves at Filbert Street, always looked up to him since then
Wink Posted 10 December 2013 Posted 10 December 2013 Has to be Muzzy... Scored some right beauties!!!!
HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 10 December 2013 Posted 10 December 2013 I guess all answers in this thread are dependent on age and really what we like most in a player. For me it is between two who have been mentioned already...original Tommy Wright as I'm sure you could guess from my little picture and also Muzzy. Both so skillful and really gave brought something special to the team.
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 10 December 2013 Posted 10 December 2013 I know it's more than one but if we could replace our central midfield with Lennon, Sav, and Muzzy I'd be in dreamland.
Lobsterboyuk Posted 10 December 2013 Posted 10 December 2013 Definitely Steve Walsh! Got a random old song in my head about him now something about wherever you may be and his f**ked up knee can anyone remember it in full for me? +1 for Walshy. Over 20 years ago so I could be wrong but: Walshy, wherever you may be, Will you be fit when we play Derby, Will you be there when we get to Wembley, Stevie Walsh and his fvcked up knee
