hackneyfox Posted 12 December 2013 Posted 12 December 2013 You're assuming we'd be better off, either way we don't know. One may as well toss a coin to decide whether to stick or twist. The only way changing the manager would be seen as a success is for them to get immediate promotion, I'd like to see the odds on that. I'm neither for changing or sticking because it's just a lottery, I leave it up to the whims of the owners as at least they'll know what the financial situation is because none of us do. I think we've got a good squad, certainly one of the best in the division, just not sure that Pearson has the killer instinct. Earlier people were dismissing other managers who had gained promotion upon taking over at a club saying that the team had been built by the previous manager. Perhaps it would work for us. As you say it's a lottery but if we don't go up this season it's going to get progressively more difficult due to the hike in parachute payments. As you say it's all down to the whims of the owners, likewise team selection is all down to the whims of the manager, doesn't stop us wanting to discuss it though. If we only dealt in known facts there wouldn't me much traffic on here.
Number 6 Posted 13 December 2013 Posted 13 December 2013 Wasn't there a stat about being down 1-0 at HT, NP making 2 changes and us going on to win on 3 occasions this season. Tactically inept you say? No plan b you say? We do need to be more at it at the start of games, especially away from home, but Pearson has been able to pick up points with his changes in game this season. People always like to think that different is better. So many were aghast at the lack of signings this summer but we've done better than many teams who went on spending sprees.

If we took just first half form we'd be 19th, second half form we'd be top. So obviously he does change things for the better, but the flip side of this is you could say he too often doesn't set us up correctly and we go chasing the game.
