Yastafox Posted 24 January 2014 Posted 24 January 2014 Planning a trip to Birmingham for the weekend leaving tmo and back on Sunday, heard that the M1 resurfacing is affecting travel around that area but struggling to understand the info re the M69! (Call me thick!) http://www.highways.gov.uk/news/press-releases/weekend-resurfacing-work-to-start-on-m1-near-leicester/ Can anyone tell me if I can access the M69 near fosse park to and from Birmingham over the weekend?? Donut Posted 24 January 2014 Posted 24 January 2014 If youre using the M1 southbound to reach M69 at J21 (fosse park), youll be sent to the exit at J20 and diverted from there. The resurfacing will stop anyone exiting the M69 to join the M1 southbound at J21 (fosse park). Join M69 at J20 following the diversions, for (Northbound) Leicester it sounds like youll be sent to J22 Coalville and back onto the southbound carriage back to Fosse Park. Sounds like a right mess. Id avoid it all together.

Had to drive to ****ing Lutterworth to go all the way back to A46 junction. P.S - only commenting because of epic user name.

Smudge Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Why not just carry on along the Narborough Rd/Coventry Rd until you reach the A5, then head northwest until you come to the M69 at Burbage? it's just a couple of miles or so.
harpendenfox Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Came up the M1 to watch the game yesterday unaware of the roundabout closure. Got to junction 21 at 2, diverted on the M69, made it back to the roundabout to be sent north up the M1. Got to the ground at 3, got drenched getting my ticket, sat down to see Liam going off. Didn't feel good about the day. But things improved!
