Transfer Deadline Day

Recommended Posts

You know this deadline day is shit, when with an hour to go, the big breaking news is Valencia sign Philippe Senderos.

Natalie Sawyer is yet again, keeping this shit watchable.

Fulham mongrels behind the reporter chanting "Cheerio" regarding Senderos, am I missing something? Never thought he was that bad.

A dog at Stoke in a Stoke shirt? Kill me.

Just hate the jobless mongaloids gathering behind reporters like theyve got nothing better to do than catch the news of a signing on their phone while they do something meaningful, hate managers coming out and pretending to not know whats happening with a transfer deal and then agents influencing the deals.

Hate clubs who think the "transfer window" means the last couple of hours on deadline day to do any business and then exclaim theyve pulled off a magnificent deadline day signing, that stupid money counter totalling how much has been spent on transfers in the window.

Jim White and the ridiculous over dramatisation. Ive seen "Deadline Day Sponsored By Football Manager" on the SSN channel on the few occasions ive turned over during an ad break tonight like deadline day is some kind of public event.

It just annoys me greatly.

I think I hate this most of all. They treat it like it's children in need night. They should be ashamed, not proud, of how much money is being spent.

Shocking from Liverpool.

Ian Ayre and Liverpool representives have been in Ukraine for 3 days, Liverpool activated Konoplyanka release clause (still dubious about this being true), agreed personal terms and Konoplyanka even had a medical. All this for the Dnipro owner to refuse to sell the player, doesn't add up to me.

Embarrassing from Ian Ayre, to be in the Ukraine for 3 days 'negotiating' and not work out that their owner doesn't want to sell their best player is mind numbingly stupid.

Poor window from us, needed to strengthen the squad to maintain this top four push!

I didnt think a club could stop a player moving if a minimum fee release clause was activated, very bizarre. I do think Liverpool needed to bolster the squad, and no doubt Konoplyanka is a talented player (England found that out a couple of times in the qualifiers), but it did seem like strange goings on.

Well sometimes the buy out clause means little, remember Suarez with Arsenal in the summer? They triggered his fee, we didn't sell. There are that many hidden little clauses nowadays..

He wasn't the position we needed strengthening but he would of been a good addition. Thing that annoys me is, if Konoplyanka comes in and we get Champions League football then reaching Europe will have paid for his transfer, nothing lost. Now if we don't reach top four then there's a good chance we lose Luis Suarez, harsh reality.

I agree that you needed to push on because id imagine with Van Persie and Rooney now fit and the addition of Mata, Man Utd are going to push you hard for that 4th place. Also disappointing behaviour from Dnipro really.

With Arsenal's lack of transfers and fixtures they have coming up, we have to keep pushing forward in the hope of 3rd. Not impossible.

The top two are locked out, certainly Arsenal are catchable but i just think theyll have enough to nick 3rd. Youre right though not impossible

Alexei Sayle used to tell this gag: "I'm the editor of 'What's on in Stoke Newington. It's a piece of paper with "fvck all" written on it in big letters.'

I was reminded of that watching Sky's feverish deadline-day programme at about 09:30 last night. They went round all these poor sods standing in the cold (and wet) outside grounds like Old Trafford, the Etihad, the Emirates, Stamford Bridge and christ knows were else, and all they could talk about was what was not happening. One of the funniest comments was some bloke seriously bemoaning the fact that it wasn't like 2011 when Carroll went from Newcastle to Liverpool, and Torres went from Liverpool to Chelsea, both record signings for their new clubs, and both on deadline day. Fvckwits.
